A saggy wrinkled neck at age 29

ThisCoralUser · 29/01/2026 20:08

I'm only 29 and that is my neck. My face has wrinkles you can't see in that picture. I was hoping I could reach my 40s before this would happen to me.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom? Or maybe you relate?

Your neck is not wrinkled at all. It looks lovely in fact. Stop taking photos of your neck and go live life and enjoy your youth!

CharlieMM1 · 29/01/2026 20:10

You also have a very beautiful smile!

Thank you but there are things to jiggle.

It isn't!

But make sure you use plenty of sunscreen to keep it youthful.

Those aren't wrinkles at your age, they are more likely a sign of dehydration. Do you drink plenty of water every day?

CharlieMM1 · 29/01/2026 20:14

I look forward to lots of other people coming along to confirm you are wrong. You have a neck of someone of your (young) age. You do realise we all need enough skin coverage to be able to move our necks!!!! 😂

I do actually drink a lot of water.

We're supposed to move. There are no wrinkles there. You are not saggy.

Your skin is supposed to allow you to move parts of your body.

I'm 3 months pregnant. Is this a pregnancy thing? Though I seen women further or postpartum who don't have this.

You don’t look saggy or wrinkled at all, trust me! But I wonder if you have dry skin as that can make normal features seem more pronounced than they used to be

I genuinely don't know what you think you can see, but I promise you there's no sagginess.

Well, if you say you can't see it, I can't force you to see it. So, thank you for saying there's nothing there.

I don't say things I don't mean, there's nothing wrong with your neck.

CharlieMM1 · 29/01/2026 20:30

Is it a pregnancy thing ....what exactly? There is nothing to see. Just a completely normal neck 😂 I think you may one day look back at this freak out and laugh. But what I do think is normal in pregnancy is being hyper vigilant of real or perceived changes to your body.

I'm 90 % sure I'm not allowed to show a picture of me that is identifying. Is that right?

I don't know, I want to believe you that I look my age. But you barely saw my face.

OP, there is nothing saggy visible in that picture.. nor any wrinkles. If you are referring to the horizontal lines at intervals - I believe they are an unfortunate side effect of staring down at a screen for far too much of our lives.. and most people over the age of 20 nowadays sport them. You might still be young enough to lessen the effect with posture correction, hydration, and collagen. You are beautiful though 💐

I don't need to see your face.

You don't look old.

The problem today is that everyone is full of fillers, Botox etc, so normal, natural movement in our skin is seen as not normal.

From that photo you look like a perfectly normal woman in her 20s.

StrawberryJamAndRaspberryPie · 29/01/2026 20:55

Just looks like a sunburn that’s left lines due to the normal creases of the neck OP. Lay off the sun!

Agree with this. We've lost sight of what's normal. OP, you have lovely skin and a lovely smile and you are expecting a baby. That's all good stuff to focus on!

Collagen supplements are bollocks btw

calpolandcuddles · 29/01/2026 21:07

I am a bit older than you op, (with your perfectly youthful neck)

I did wear my last trimester on my face (heatwave, 2nd baby, persistent hyperemesis etc) so I looked a bit puffy (face and feet, beaut) but that's definitely not like that in your case! Your neck is lovely, no notes x

anyone else sat up a little straighter after reading that 😩 (...runs off to inspect neck lines)

holdtheline11 · 29/01/2026 21:13

OP I agree with what others are saying but I do get you in the sense that i have had similar worries about my neck.

So yeh youre not alone. I had a scare a few years ago where at 30 I suddenly felt like I looked really old and saggy in my face and neck and started to really look seriously at my health and diet. Realised how much sugar I eat and changed some things like eating savoury breakfast (which keeps me full for longer and stopped cravings and snacking after a bit) and cutting out white sugar and processed food. It hasn't helped that I've always even a little overweight and have smoked. I do think maybe older generations who didn't grow up with as much sugar/chocolate/phone face dont remember how youthful they looked like at our ages - but equally true that Instagram and our consumer /beauty culture is constantly telling us to worry about things like this in unprecedented ways and that a lot of this is, actually, manufactured concern for a problem that isn't really real. The women we see online and on TV are just so so above average pretty and slim.

I also realised that some of it is genes and the kind of skin I have is out of my control and that I'm lucky in other ways looks wise. I did take up gua sha though which I do sometimes but only because it is genuinely lovely, relaxing and self care.

Do think it has improved or at least not got worse.

Other people thought it was silly but didn't stop it and there is an element of people not wanting to encourage women's obsession with our perfection which I totally get as a feminist but it's still scary to think you are aging faster and worse than others as we've still got decades ahead of us where we want to look attractive! It really rattled me the way others acted like I was the only one to see these wrinkles and saggy neck skin but then I realised its just too awkward for others to admit they see that.

I do think your face/neck is not unusually or noticeably fat or scraggy by 99% of people's standard and I would not have noticed but yeh what you mention is similar to what I felt about my neck.

Not sure if that helps at all haha
