I go to those antique store with multiple sellers in one property.

ClothesHorseProblems · 29/01/2026 08:57

I buy second hand, because I prefer solid gold and gem stones but I have a gold plate and glass budget. I like both modern styles or antique (art deco/art nouveau are what I go for) There's a big antique place in Lincolnshire. It used to be an airfield. Now all the hangers are full of individual antique shops. There's about half a dozen that sell jewellery from all eras. The prices are very good.

Have a look at the jewellers on Find a Maker website. Lots of different styles, depending on your own preferences.

My husband bought me some very pretty pink diamond ear rings from Liberty for Christmas. He’s also used Glamira for presents.
We also have a very long established family firm where I live and they do quite a bit of preloved jewellery.

Nooo! Why did you tell me that 🤣 it's so far to drive to from where I live, it's a proper day out, but if I can order shiny things online now.... I'm going to the "deinfluence me" thread now 🤣

😂😂....sorry!
It used to be bookmarked on my phone - fatal 😁

Gall10 · 29/01/2026 11:55

It's ok, I had a peek and there's a very limited selection of quite expensive stuff. I think I'm safe! 😂

BustPipes · 29/01/2026 13:26

Don't buy from Ruby and Oscar, whatever you do. I bought something off them early Jan - the item is no longer in stock, and they haven't responded to my emails or refunded me. Avoid!

GameOfJones · 29/01/2026 14:25

Most of my jewellery is from Lines and Current, Astley Clarke or Monica Vinader. Other than rings which are solid gold and bought from "proper" jewellers.

If I want cheap earrings SilverRainSilver on Etsy are great and don't hurt my ears.

ManyATrueWord · 29/01/2026 14:30

I do like Carrie Elspeth. I'm all about the finish on beads rather than colours and the store has a huge variety.

For more expensive things I convince myself I'm getting a better deal buying second hand, but it probably just means I have old fashioned taste.

MonChoufleur123 · 29/01/2026 14:33

Monica Vinader, Tilly Siveas and Alex Munro

Lovemycat2023 · 29/01/2026 14:56

Etsy mainly but I like cheap and cheerful in acrylic etc. Nicer silver stuff from Monica Vinander (sorry about the spelling!)

blondlygoshferatus · 29/01/2026 15:01

Saleroom.com online auction normally

Sadly got burgled a few years ago and I got a nig cheque to replace it all. I shopped a lot ar Goldsmiths online, but their customer service was so bad I was very unhappy.

blondlygoshferatus · 29/01/2026 15:02

I also like art studios for locally made small jeweller - eg smalldogsilver

Trekkerbabe · 30/01/2026 10:17

Thanks all. This is really interesting and I'm now looking at each website!

I prefer silver jewellery - my current favourites are Lines & Current, and Alex Monroe.

TeaRoseTallulah · 02/02/2026 01:36

John Taylor Garland
Jeremy Heber

OhDear111 · 02/02/2026 01:46

Annoushka. At Bicester village.

Hhhwgroadk · 02/02/2026 13:59

Hatton Garden, London. As well as new jewelry there are secondhand shops with lots of lovely real gold, diamonds and gemstones at realistic prices.

If I had the money I'd buy all of Ruth Tomlinson's stuff.

Ruth Tomlinson – London based jewellery designer

I've bought a couple of things from Gold Arts.

Gold Arts Jewellers | Trusted Family Jewellers Since 1979 – GoldArts

Oh no, that's very dangerous for me. I didn't know about Ruth Tomlinson's jewellery. I love it all too!
