Automatic hair curlers - are they any good?

My Instagram feed is full of these and the ads are clearly working as I’m sorely tempted… My hair is naturally straight but does hold a GHD curl well - it’s just a bit of a faff, and the quality and uniformity of each curl can be a bit hit and miss. The automatic curlers do seem to solve these problems - has anyone used one, and would they recommend?

(This is the sort of thing I’m talking about, for anyone still in the dark…)

Took me a couple of tries to get it right - I'm quite cackhanded though. Found it helped to have a thickish piece of hair (or you end up with a pig's curly tail) and to slightly twist the hair to make it easier to insert. I change direction to curl away from the face, wait for bit to cool and then ruffle with my fingers. I bought from Hong Kong (at a discount) and it took a while to arrive but delivered by RM and not Evri.

The Tymo is the only thing that's ever worked for me. I'm completely cackhanded and uncoordinated and still figuring out how to do the back but it just sucks up the hair and you have a curl.

I fell for the tik tok hype and bought the Tymo one. It's great - even my 11 year old has used it very successfully to do her own hair.

So, it arrived a day early, and I’ve just tried it out. It works exactly as it looks in the ads, just sucks up the hair and spits out a nice glossy curl. Very easy to use. The curls are definitely sausage-type ringlets, but once they’d cooled I combed them through with a wide-toothed comb and they looked a lot more natural then.

I’ll update if it stops working or sets the house on fire, but so far I’m impressed.

Can anyone recommend an automatic curler (brand and specific model) for thick, frizzy, shoulder length hair please? TIA

I bought the Babyliss one, and have tried it once so far - I’m not hugely impressed.

I’m considering buying the Tymo curler.
Does anyone have the Curl Pro one. I think it’s the one with the shorter barrel. I have shorter hair so thinking this one will be ok rather than the PRO plus which looks more suitable for longer hair.

That’s the one I got. My hair is about bra strap length and it works fine.
