What footwear is trendy now?

I really need new shoes and I want something trendy.

I'm thinking Birkenhead soft clogs, with white socks on.

But I'm not sure. I have one pair of LV sunset comfort sandals that I love but I feel bad for wearing them daily, what stylish shoes can I buy? Sort of this style but not too similar.

I live in a warm climate.

Budget is around £70.

Well what my Daughters/ Grandkids idea of trendy is not my idea of trendy.
I.E clogs with white socks.🤷‍♀️l will stick with my Skechers and Cloudsteppers.
Wear whatever blows your hair back...

I think you mean Birkenstock? I doubt you can get the real ones for less than £140-150 unless they are in the sale.

Sorry yes Birkenstock! But not sure if it's too predictable, is there something I can wear that's trendy but not as popular yet Confused

I was going to buy them second hand for £70.

'Wear whatever blows your hair back...'

That's what I'm not sure about so was looking for some ideas or inspiration.

I think there are a few noticeable trends but the good news overall is that anything still goes!

Do any of these designer styles spark inspiration?

If you want clogs, Doc Marten have some in the sale that are cheaper than Birkenstock (Jorge II for example, which I have and they are extremely comfortable). They also have lots of sandals on sale for around £100 if you wanted something similarish but different to your LVs.

I wouldn't say they are bang on trend now though if that's your main consideration.

I’m sorry but anything worn with white socks unless a trainer is a no no unless your a teen

I can’t believe these abominations are back. The puma ballet flats, I mean. They were uglyand useless in 00’s and they still are. Why?

Saladmess · 23/12/2025 09:38

Mary Janes or Loafers are great right now

I agree.

I'm thinking Birkenhead soft clogs, with white socks on. I'll never see my Arizonas in the same light. Smile

I agree.

Me too. I had mint ones - backless! Worn with flared jeans. Why?

UpMyself · 23/12/2025 12:12

I don't see the point either. Why have shoes that are trying to look like two things?

While I'm at it, why do I bother looking at Who What Wear? Articles like theirs make me think that they write things according to who has paid them to promote something.

French women will be wearing trench coats, berets and crisp white shirts... yawn.

Should i brave a trip to the supermarket?

owlpassport · 23/12/2025 14:40

This site is quite UK-focused and currently here it is... 8 degrees and has rained for about 5 weeks solid, so I'm not sure we're best placed to advise on your sandal needs. Also won't trends be slightly different depending where you live?

The Teva midform infinity sandals were big this summer though, they might work.

WWW and their bloody 'I am a stylist and these are the top 5 things to make you look expensive'. It makes me really angry and the 'stylists' never look like anything special either.

UpMyself · 23/12/2025 16:39

WWW and their bloody 'I am a fashion editor and these are the top n things ...' and they list some boring overpriced V-neck jumpers or hideous shoes.

My 'Should i brave a trip to the supermarket?' was unrelated. I went to Lidl yesterday but all they had left in the 5p veg was carrots.

That's still not bad. I missed out on 15p spuds in Sainsbury's earlier.

I LOVE my speedcat trainerinas. Most comfy shoe ever. (And positively preening now you've posted them as a 'trendy footwear' suggestion.😊 )

Thank you I've never seen these 'who wears what' articles; I love the look and the concept of the reversible loafers 🤩 Love all of them, now where to find cheaper alternatives...

The beige ballet pumps would get dirty quickly so I'd rather something black or brown. This is for everyday shoes so the school run, trip to the supermarket etc.

The reversible loafers with white socks I think would look trendy and feel comfortable. Thank you Flowers

Says who?

It looks trendy yet comfortable. The crisp white looks clean.

What shoes do you wear? And what shoes should I, a 38 yo female, should wear? 🙏🏻

Just seen the pumps I posted a link to are in the Who What Wear article so it seems my NDN is bang on trend.

outerspacepotato · 24/12/2025 12:52

I'm seeing some ballet style shoes with multiple straps across made by some sneaker companies.

Bones101 · 25/12/2025 01:55

Don't get shoes with no back support. I e seen so many more foot injuries from them recently 🤣
