2026 No Buy

I am planning a strict 2026 clothes no buy. I’ve tried in the past but the maximum I achieved was 3 months or so.
I’m sick of the cycle of seeing/ wanting / buying. I want to couple my No Buy with some other habit changes. I would like to limit screen time to one hour a day (except when listening to podcasts/ books and language learning). This is the year to brush up my Spanish and German for trips later in the year. I am annoyed at the hours of life I have wasted scrolling online sites.
I’ve tidied wardrobe in preparation and am ebaying / charity shopping anything which isn’t currently working for me.
Anyone else want to join me for moral support?

I have completed a month of no buy.

I have a variety of events booked for this summer and don’t feel any pull to buy something new for any of them at present.

I will no doubt see loads of stuff I want in July lol.

@D20 well done on the No Buy month! I was doing this initially for financial reasons but actually it’s helping me in huge ways to reframe my spending habits and the thought processes underlying them. I have a lot more innate resourcefulness and creativity than I had realised. I was also looking for clothes to give me the polish and ‘status’ that actually better health, greater fitness, increased hydration , daily meditation etc give me for free. I stand taller, speak more calmly, and look more groomed and streamlined and I have not spent a cent to achieve that. I would not have bothered with those new habits if my focus and time were taken up in the constant quest for ‘new’ (and ‘better’) stuff.

I know it's only middle of the month but I'm so pleased with how I'm doing. No major spends and I'm decluttering far more than I've brought in. Managed not to buy any more summer dresses. I've got loads already but used to buy more every year, thinking somehow that I only had about 5. Gathered them all up and I have two drawers full! Confessing to some floral vest tops, which are surprisingly hard to find, so whenever I do I snap them up.

Was going to declare a no spend month
Then remembered a tee shirt I picked up this lunch time!
