Best way to remove make up on really sensitive skin

I've just asked chat gpt what is wrong with my skin and it's suggested damaged skin barrier, menopause and rosacea. Tbf skin and me said the same when I used them.

I've just bought some cerave hydrating cleanser but I need a v gentle but thorough way to remove make up first, any suggestions?

My poor pores do not get on with coconut oil or heavy balm cleaners (like the beauty pie or elemis ones) but the lighter ELF one was ok.

Thanks

I like the garnier micellar water.

I like the garnier micellar water.

Me also - have rosacea, and v sensitive skin. It works really well. Don't even have to moisturise afterwards.

But I wear light makeup - just a BB cream, no mascara etc. What are you trying to take off OP?

Foundation/skin tint efficient is pretty light but also mascara, often a waterproof one that really does need some work to shift. And using anything too rich around my eyes leads to milia (I know I'm like the Princess and the Pea!)

I use baby oil to remove make up then follow with this. My skin in super sensitive & hates pretty much everything, but this really works for me.

Clinique Cleansing oil.

@Savvyshopper81 is it unperfumed? I cannot cope with any perfume at all atm

@Cantonet Sorry should have said Clinique and Simple are both no go

I find the garnier micellar water works great for removing all of my makeup - foundation, waterproof mascara, anything! It’s literally the only thing I ever use, and it’s fragrance free.

soccermum10 · 02/12/2025 07:23

I literally just use fragrance free baby wipes. I can't use toner or anything on my face as it destroys it

KilliMonjaro · 02/12/2025 07:41

Simple?

Floisme · 02/12/2025 09:23

I'm deleting my post as it's on the wrong thread - sorry!

I have very sensitive skin and use a single application of the Inkey List oat balm to remove everything. No double cleansing, no hot cloths. A terrible crime according to the skin care purists, but my skin looks fab 🤷‍♀️

CharlotteCChapel · 02/12/2025 10:20

You could try a make up removal cloth. I use one but I rarely wear makeup

I have very easily angered skin with rosacea and find that this dirt cheap Vitamin E micellar water from Superdrug shifts my make up really easily without making me flare up and look like a beetroot. It's currently half price at £2 which is quite frankly mental. I use the two part, shake to mix Nivea stuff for eye make up though.
