General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread.

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

Day 8 Jo Loves is a mini hand cream in Jo. I love handbag sized hand creams but unfortunately I don't like this scent 😆

I've tried this out already and really like it. I love a lip product that is a cross between a balm and a gloss and this is a great example. It feels moisturising without being sticky and leaves a nice subtle gloss. It does smell quite strongly rosy though which I like but probably not everyone's cup of tea!

I got a little shampoo in Korres today, a pot of bloody Bumbum cream in F&M, and a strange white ceramic thing shaped like a flat bottle in L’artisan parfumeur. I spent such a long time choosing which calendars to get, but think the novelty of advent calendars has worn off this year. 😞

Day 8 in StyleKorean is a K-Secret Seoul 1988 Liposome and Black Ginseng Retinal Serum 30ml. Not tried this brand before, so looking forward to using this.

Elle today is a 40ml ESPA body lotion, ok for travel

Delighted with that this morning. I’ve been tempted by the brand before but it’s a bit expensive to commit untried - would definitely buy this in full size though 😊

I think the By Terry rose lip balm is lovely, and one of their signature products.

@Growlybear83 is the ceramic one of those ceramic stones you are meant to douse in scent, and then they act as a sort of scent diffuser? Diptyque do little medallions that work like this.

I also bought some of the sleep serum for a bargain price on Vinted, I’ve been suffering from Perioral dermatitis so really hoping it’s what I need!

Day 7 of the small Body Shop - small size grapefruit body butter. Probably not one I would have picked but it smells quite nice and fresh so I likely will use this.

ASOS box today is Bare essentials primer. Tried it out already and it has a lovely glowy look to it.

I've just managed to bag one for £8.00 on Vinted - others are on there at £20 - £50.

I have that lip serum in Kissed and I love it so much. Goes on clear, gently turns my lips pink - and it's a good pink that suits me.

I was given it but I'd buy again because I really rate it.

I love Spacemasks - they gently heat up and the heat lasts a long time. I find them really comforting. I use them if I want to do a yoga nidra sesion or longer meditation session.

I also really rate that spray - it seems to keep redness at bay which I can be prone to at this time of year going from warm to cold and back again.

Today's No7 had a teeny retinol. Hmmm.

Sephora tin had hand masks which I will probably really enjoy using while watching a film. Gawd knows my hands need some care and attention.

ASOS today is a Bare Minerals Hydrate & Glow Primer. I like to use a primer so am pleased with this.

Thanks @DailyMaui I've been a bit under the weather recently so will treat myself to the eye mask tonight. I will look forward to using the spray as I've noticed that I do get redness in the winter months too.

Sylvan Glow is a Roman’s Glasting Melting Balm in Kaya Fig. A lovely moisturising lip balm in a very pretty sheer colour. Very happy with this.

Gruum - Day 8 - Chill Home Fragrance spray, plum and tonka.

Another hit, it smells glorious, even DH loved it and he's a bit funny about sprays.

That sounds lovely. The one I got last year was orange and cedar. I have rp'd it. It's great in the loo and only needs a small squirt or two.

Day 8 Lumene, and it’s a shampoo - always useful. I assume tomorrow will be the conditioner.

Day 8 CB limited ed. True Botanicals retinol serum. Will use this up once ive got through similar products.
Not sure what drawers ive stuffed my extras in🤣
