Can anyone suggest a really nice perfume? Or a few? I have been wearing Princess by Vera Wang for the last 12 months and really want a new fragrance?

P.s - I can still wear perfume, right? I'm such a clueless first timer haha

I've just ordered Jo Malone's special edition 'White Tie and Tiaras'. Also love White Jasmine and Mint layered with Orange Blossom body lotion.

Yummy!!

Marc Jacobs Blush is wonderful - I dont normally go for florals but it's so light and fresh

sherbetdipdab · 09/06/2008 20:21

I used to wear Miss Dior Cherie until my morning sickness put an end to that! Now I'm wearing Philosophy Baby Grace, its a bit baby powdery but I didn't want anything overpowering as I can smell everything as I'm pregnant and I have a 10 month old DS so didn't want him associating me with a perfume, if that makes sense?! And I couldn't bear perfume at all while I was breastfeeding, strangely.

harpomarx · 09/06/2008 20:52

displacementactivity, it is this one but don't tell anyone else!

didn't like Shalimar either, btw.

Harpomax, I love Mitsouko. Reminds me of a dear aunty. Every time I wear it, I think if her. (Was it me you followed?)

Sparkle, we must have similar perfume tastes. I also have pomegranite noir, but went off it when both DSs, independently within the space of a week, commented on the smell of "off bananas" in the house. Now, when I wear it, I can smell the undertone of rotting fruit.

Sparkletastic · 09/06/2008 21:10

Yes MrsM - it can be a bit much! I love it when my hormones are running high during Aunt Flo's visit (snurk!). My DH isn't keen - think menfolk prefer floral girly stuff. DH bought me 'Lovely' by SJP which I thought was okay and 'Romance' by Ralph Lauren which I hated and used as air freshener .

harpomarx · 09/06/2008 21:35

who knows MrsMuddle, it could have been - ICA about 10 years ago, were you there?!

Lobs · 09/06/2008 22:13

J'adore for work
Daisy by Marc Jacobs at the weekend
Clinique Happy for a night out in summer
Chanel Mademoiselle for a night out in winter

I could do with a new fragrance too but there are sooo many to choose from, it's a bit of an effort to find one

champagnesupernova · 09/06/2008 22:33

Penhaligons violetta.

It is gorgeous and smells of parma violet sweets, well sort of.

It's very pretty and feminine, good for summer.

I adore it.

marymungoandmidge · 10/06/2008 10:47

I wear Vetiver by Guerlain - a man's cologne actually but i love it and also sometimes a DK scent called Be Delicious (naff name)which is my DH bought - very fruity but fresh and people always positively comment on both....

makealist · 10/06/2008 10:51

Has anyone tried Bronze Goddess by Estee lauder?

TheFallenMadonna · 10/06/2008 11:00

I wear Casimir by Chopard. It is lovely, and makes me smell like custard, according to one of my pupils - "but it's good Miss, I like custard" .

But perfume is pretty indiviual isn't it? My mum has one that smells fabulous on her, but on my skin it smells like cucumber.

scattercushion · 10/06/2008 11:08

Casimir smells like lamb fat on me, Thefallenmadonna - not as nice as custard!

TheFallenMadonna · 10/06/2008 11:34

There you go! Recommendations don't work. You have to squirt and see.

champagnesupernova · 10/06/2008 12:10

Doh, thanks ScottishMummy

jumpingbeans · 10/06/2008 12:18

JPG -Classique(sp), i love it

mablemurple · 10/06/2008 12:31

Chanel No 19
The first Agent Provocateur perfume - not Maitresse
Eau du Soir by Sisley
Youth Dew by Estee Lauder

Does anyone remember Havoc by Mary Quant? I used to luuurrrve that perfume, and would love to find one that smelled similar!
Am always on the lookout for new scents so will be trying some of the ones mentioned here.
