Granny nighties

Not sure I'm putting this in the right place as clearly granny nighties are not renowned for being either stylish or beautiful but it is shopping related so maybe someone will be able to help me!

My poor mum is currently in hospital and is therefore spending a lot of time in nighties. I would like to get her some new ones but can't seem to find any suitable ones anywhere.

My list of requirements is not long, I was hoping for below the knee, short sleeves (but not sleeveless), no low neckline and ideally cotton.

Any ideas of where to look?

British Boxers? https://british-boxers.com/collections/all-womens-nightshirts

Might not be as long as you like, but I'm on the short side at just over 5' and they are below the knee on me. High neckline and some have short sleeves. I actually wear these and am nowhere near granny age 😂

Definitely Bonmarche. I had a similar struggle trying to find some for my mother. I ended up buying five from Bonmarche.

If urgent and online I found some good ones for my mum in Amazon. We don’t live near many clothes shops, so very handy.

Wow, have only just seen all these replies - thank you so much for all the suggestions, much appreciated.

May already have been said but I would strongly suggest that you buy nightdresses that button all way down the front. Having wrangled many women in and out of nightdresses over a long nursing career these are much more comfortable and practical. I would also ignore the recommendations on here for expensive nighties as there is a chance they may get spoiled or even lost in hospital.

I've been wondering about what's most practical for hospital, which might not be the same as we would choose to wear at home.

Aren't hospitals usually warm, hence short sleeves being requested.

My health has been good so far but being older I'd like to have a few handy just in case.

In that case, @RosesAndHellebores, as the OP’s mother is in need of new nightwear, I’d imagine

Primark

would be the best place to look. I’ve always been able to find good looking nightwear there, not long lasting, but cheap enough to go ‘straight in the bin’ afterwards.

(My own nonagenarian DM has a store of well-worn Toast, and similar stuff, ready to be packed if and when necessary.)

Then I imagine you will appreciate the scratchy cheap cotton and rough seams usually found on Primark clothes. A good reason not to shop there, aside from the sweat shops overseas.

I found a couple of long nighties in matalan. I just bought a couple for a hospital stay coming up. They are currently in the sale, if you are quick!

def Matalan
