Sick of buying uncomfortable bras

I feel like it's impossible to buy a bra that
a) doesn't feel like it's strangling me
b) doesn't dig into me (underwired especially)
c) lifts my D cup boobs enough so they don't look flat and saggy
d) actually keeps my boobs in rather than them congregating at the middle
e) looks somewhat pretty and flattering.

I have so many different types, and every time I try one on in the shop and think 'finally', I wear it for a day or two and the one of the above problems happens and I've wasted yet more money.

I just wish I could find a bra that actually fits and then just get it in several colours so I don't have to think about it anymore.

I've been to bra fitters, they always fit me in ridiculously tight bands that aren't comfortable.

Is it just me?

I'm almost tempted to get some type of tape as my current bralettes are fabulous, my boobs just want to spill out the middle and it's driving me nuts.

I really feel your pain. I also can not bear that uncomfortable feeling.

You need to have a proper fitting or get creative in the fitting room. I thought I was a 34DD and I'm actually a 32F. I would NEVER have tried that size in the shop.

I now have a lace, underwired bra that is one of my most comfortable bras! Madness. I haven't worn an undrewire in years!

For real comfort I like Boody.

And I actually really rate Ann Summer bras 😂 some of them have last me 15+ years!! I think it just so happens that they fit the shape of my breasts but I'm grateful for it!

I was fitted at M&S recently having lost weight. As I expected, I've gone down one band size to 36 which I hadn't been in a long time. Immediately felt very much tighter - but the new ones don't leave marks because they fit properly.

Always clip them on the clip nearest the end as with wears and washes they will stretch slightly so you can then go on to the next one.

But I was surprised to find after trying on a range that the ones that fit were labelled E cup. I'd previously been in a DD. But these particular bras are made in China so there may be a size perception issue.

After fitting, try a range of styles - full cup, plunge, wired, unwired.

Jump up and down. Everything still in place?

Try with your top back on. Does everything look well HELLO??

I had been having an issue with itching ...! Turns out I have a tendency to react to cheap metal and some elastic. So the construction and materials have to be examined before I buy.

These are the ones I got recently - very plain no frills and they fit.

Thing is, it's not just about the size, but also where your breast tissue sits. I have large closely set boobs, so cannot wear anything without wires because I will always get a monoboob. I need the wire that sits in the middle of the boobs to separate them. No unwired bra has that. As a pp said, I need that lift and separate vibe.

I wear 32HH Millies from Bravissimo.

I was inspired to go to my local lingerie shop this morning and be fitted for a bra as none of mine were comfortable or fitted right. I’ve gone from a 36B to a 34D and what a difference. I’ve had it on all day and not even noticed it’s there. It’s been a revelation.

It makes such a difference, doesn't it! You will also look much slimmer and clothes will hang properly...

I do not believe that any adult female is ever a 36B. Well, maybe it is possible, but it would be incredibly unusual.

Fellow bra hater here. On a recent thread about uncomfortable bras, someone recommended M&S Flexfit so decided to give one a whirl. Absolute game changer! I have one in each colour now.

I like the Rebecca essentials bra at Bravissimo .
I have been measured as a 30 but honest to goodness I was glad to take it off at the end of the day 😩 and it flew across the room 🤣I’m much comfier in a 32 .
The staff at Bravissimo checked and said yes , 32 is better and to get an F (or FF ) in certain styles .
F sounds frightening..like I need to keep them in cages 😂 but I’m honestly a perfectly average size
