I need VERY wide shoes to go with this dress, plus poss jacket/hat/bag ideas

This is the dress (finding plus size maternity wear suitable for a wedding is nigh on impossible, so this was my only option, and thankfully looks ok on).

I have very wide feet (25cm at widest point, which means EEE feeting apparently), and due to a lack of some arch or other, have to have a strap of some sort to stop them falling off.

So far, these are the only shoes I can find that look like they might fit. Do you think they will go? If not, can you find something better in a size 6.5 or 7? Not too delicate a heel please, as I am not dainty! Would be nice not to wear crocs just for one day!

Wedding is mid-July, so I'm hoping I won't need a jacket, but just in case, what would go? Needs to be available in bigger than a 22, so forget all Monsoon and Next suggestions!

I don't really suit hats (and have an enormous head too - noticing a theme ), but am open to suggestions for something to wear on head. Hair is short if it makes any difference.

Finally, bag suggestions please!

The shoes might work in the grey. Maybe silver ones. Will look. As for jacket - I'd go for a shrug/cardigan instead - much more likely to find something, I suspect.

Gorgeous dress, by the way - love the colour.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 13:02

I was looking for silver ones, but no joy!

Could you wear these? Or do you mean you need a strap over the instep, like the mary-jane style, or a t-bar style?

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 13:08

Like Mary Jane or t-bar I'm afraid. Those would just fall straight off .

Have you tried simply be? They have wide fitting shoes.

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:09

Ankle strap?

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:11

And if an ankle strap would work, maybe these, though the heel's a bit more delicate than you'd said.

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:15

Ooh - these in the pewter? Or too high?

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 13:17

lol - was just about to post a link to the second pair! Ankle strap would be fine. They don't look wide on the toe, but could get some to see.

The Shoe Tailor ones (who do Simply Be's shoes) are a bit 'old lady' but I might not be able to be choosy on that score!

Easier to get a bag with silver. If I went for the grey ones then what would work? Still a silver bag?

OP posts:
JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:17

The same, but cheaper?

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:18

I reckon a silver bag would be fine.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 13:21

No not too high as the heel is chunky. Quite like them, but am suspecting that 'wide fit' is not quite the same as 'bloody enormous boats'. Probably an E fit at best, but will email them to ask.

Isn't pewter more gold than silver though?

OP posts:
JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:22

No, it should be a kind of aged silver. But you never quite know till you see it in the flesh, so to speak.

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:24

Silver shrug? Though I suspect that neutral/beige might be the way to go.

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:29

Ah - how about this? I didn't know Evans did bridal wear.

EachPeachPearMum · 05/06/2008 13:33

They have lots of nice fascinators in accessorise atm- some are headband type which would suit better than comb type?

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 13:33

Ah yes, I prefer the Evans one. Would this be too 'coaty'? (Thinking the colour would go with the grey shoes).

Too long/too casual/ok given I'll be over 6 months pregnant?!

Heifer · 05/06/2008 13:37

are these any good? in the sale also!

I have them in the Hazel and they are stunning. (or so people tell me )

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:38

Have to say I really don't like that Littlewoods coat for a wedding - grey OK in small doses, for the shoes, but that looks like something you'd wear to work.

The thinking behind a shrug, is that if you've got a bump, you don't have to worry about it meeting, because it isn't meant to meet in the first place, and it's cropped, so avoids the bump area anyway.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2008 13:39

I spotted those Heifer, but they only have size 6 left.

I do agree re the coat, sadly.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:39

Heifer, I spotted those too - but they're only in a 6 an CSWS needs 6.5 or 7, I think. They are gorgeous.

JackieNo · 05/06/2008 13:42

Allegedly, all these come in a size 22.

Heifer · 05/06/2008 13:44

ah, didn't notice only had size 6 - shame as they have matching bags also...
