Fitted tops to go with wide leg trousers ( jeans, cords)

Hi - am five foot one and have discovered wide leg crop trousers are the perfect length for me . I will link the actual style next, but they are very flat fitted on the hip and waist and then widen .They have patch pockets on the front and so its nice to show the pockets.
Being short , jumpers tend to end too low and wont show the pockets. So bought from vinted , a new body that fitted really well and showed the pockets and really need a few similar fitted tops to wear with this style- fitted to the side of the body to follow the line of the waist of the trousers , that can be tucked in not bunching out as I a simply not long enough !
Any ideas for this sort of top to pair with the trousers/ jeans would be much much appreciated!
( for casual evenings out , gigs , and even more formal)
I will try and post a pic of the style …. Thanks!!
ps nothing floaty please- I got a new bra from a expensive shop and as I am narrow ( bust 30dd) floaty shapes just stick off my bust and create too much of a triangle shape )

What about a thin ribbed turtle neck jumper tucked in?
Also where are the trousers from because they are great!

Wherethewildthings · 17/10/2025 20:05

Oh cross post, thanks!

Ginandbitterlemons · 17/10/2025 20:06

But absolutely not with a jumper like that as my busy and short frame looks too cluttered- i need fitted tops .

I don't understand how the model is 5ft10 and the leg length is 26 inches i thought that they would be shorter on her, they do look lovely trousers.

AtomicBlondeRose · 17/10/2025 20:55

I got some ribbed scoop neck tops from Primark and also a nice ribbed v-neck jumper from there.

Anjelika · 17/10/2025 21:01

I bought some from Next. Just searched on ribbed tops and bought a few. I am small of bust and like a round neck.

notnorman · 17/10/2025 21:01

I’ve bought bodies recently- the ones with poppers

Arrrrrrragghhh · 17/10/2025 21:05

I’d go high neck short sleeve. Jumpers or tops . No idea what’s around but it looked good when this style was in before.
Or fitted waistcoats if you are going to be somewhere warm. Look great with a thick short jacket.

I like this look too OP! I bought some great quality bodysuits from Karen Millen in the sale, 21£ down from £70, look online they have a lot. Otherwise I would look for very fine cashmere jumpers and tuck in.

Ginandbitterlemons · 17/10/2025 22:46

SurferRona
thanks ! Love cashmere too !
what do you wear for this look for evenings out ?

I was going to say the same, bodies are ideal to tuck in and avoid extra fabric. They keep everything looking nice and smooth.

Gorgeous trousers. I’m about the same height as you and have the same problem. For me it’s the high waist. The front pocket detail is lovely, but to show it off I’d need a short or tucked-in top, which makes my body look very short and squat. Also, although I am slim (size 8/10) I am also middle aged, and no longer have a waist I can show off.

I don’t think trousers usually suit women
