Tear trough filler, whats your experience?

I'm looking to get tear trough filler & have a consultation booked in, but I'm an absolute wimp for pain so it's not really leaving my head as I know it's going to hurt.

However, I have so many lines underneath my eyes, but when I look at before and afters, no one really looks like me.

It's £355. I'm just looking for any experiences and if it helped to reduce your under eye lines. I'm 34, but feel I look a lot older.

Thanks

@RealPerson that was after CO2 fractional laser not filler which is why it’s different healing process.

Oh no, I've got terrible dark circles and was thinking about it

It probably works very well for some people. For me, the hollows are only a small part of it. The bigger problem is the pigmentation so that's probably why fillers don't do so much for me.
A few years ago there was talk of some kind of tattoo concealer, but it seems to have disappeared.

Does this help?

I had it for dark lines like that. Worked brilliantly to get rid of the hollows under my eye and on one eye it looks great. No dark line.
The line has gone on my other eye but I have a lump in my tear trough and the aesthetician isn't getting back to me despite emails and phone calls. This was 6 weeks ago so it should have had time to settle.

I had a cannula put in both cheeks and then filler goes in there. It did hurt but not massively so.

This is the lump. The lines are much better I will try to find a before photo

I’ve been told by the doctor who does my filler that the highly qualified community stay away from tear trough due to all the things that can go wrong. Instead favouring a combo of filler and botox strategically injected in other areas. I haven’t had this so can’t comment on effectiveness.

Oh right. I've seen someone with dark pigmentation on tik tok having it lasered out instantly

I don't think that would work for me, but maybe I should do some research. I know that some people get both done.

RealPerson · 10/10/2025 20:33

Well for what it's worth I think the dark pigmentation circles can look nice, I actually quite like men with it

platinumanddiamonds · 11/10/2025 21:38

£30 deposit for consultation refundable against procedure is standard

Tangelablue · 11/10/2025 21:45

I had it done over 2 years ago for under eye bags and it worked amazingly. It's lasted a long time and I didn't feel anything as numbing cream was applied.
I will be trying polynucleotide in a couple of weeks, my colleague has had this and it's made a big difference for her. It's a lot cheaper than filler as well.

itbemay1 · 11/10/2025 21:50

Had it done twice and disappointed both times.

gillefc82 · 11/10/2025 23:35

I did a course of 3 polynucleotides injections for my under eyes (Illuma Luna) last year. It did make some of the fine lines appear smoother but I felt it made no difference with my main bugbear (puffiness), so for me wouldn’t be worth spending the £400 again.

I’ve heard mixed things about under eye fillers and the long term implications, so it’s not something I would consider. However, assuming you are going to a professional, experienced clinic for the consultation, they should guide you as to whether filler is a suitable option for you.

GirlonaCloud · 12/10/2025 08:00

@Vodka1 Why don't you try creams with retinol or whatever is supposed to help before going onto fillers?
Filler under your eyes has to be done regularly and each time it's another risk.

That is poorly done- sorry- where there is a lump. The filler has been put far too close to your eye.
It's also a disgrace that whoever did it is not answering your queries.
