This is full of "nots".

Do not show underwear - no spaghetti straps with bras showing. No spaghetti straps, actually.

Nothing see-through --YIKES! no matter how firm your bits/nethers, etc are.

No denim or jeans, no matter WHAT you see around you in your school.

Let's put it this way - no -one will criticise you for following the rules above, but many will if you don't. Especially those breaking them.

Slouchy · 03/06/2008 11:14

You need:

linen jacket, poss 3/4 sleeve
cropped trews/city shorts/wide-legged black trews
various tops - little blouses sound good to me with your figure (not for mine though)
ballet shoes
comfy wedges with a hint of sauce
Couple a-line skirts for v hot days.

Job done

MrsBadger · 03/06/2008 11:24

cock, wrong thread, sorry

PenelopePitstops · 03/06/2008 11:30

thanks slouchy

cod havent actually been to the place yet, sort of throw us in at the deep end type thing so not sure how formal it is. Its state run community secondary school

would you reccomend formal first day then tailor to suit

OP posts:

1st day
Aforesaid jacket w/little top, black wide trews and ballet pumps.

Spend break times scouring staffroom for female attire. And moderate dress accordingly. (my suggesxtions unlikely to be far wrong though)

PenelopePitstops · 03/06/2008 11:35

cheers slouchy

where would you reccomend buying such things from?

dont want to be amazingly out of pocket although im sure the clothes will be useful long term

I buy at Matalan, tesco, sains, DottyP, New Look. Odd bits at Next> I am TA at the mo (teacher really, just getting back after few years SAHM) when I return to teaching will up cllothes budget a bit but not that much TBH.

Teaching is a dirty job - schools not that clean, board markers etc ruin clothes, plastic chairs pull your trews/tights. Don't spend much to begin with.

OP posts:
PenelopePitstops · 03/06/2008 11:43

i think i need wideish trews, have wide hips and need balancing at stupidly skinny ankles so i dont look like im going to fall over

OP posts:
Slouchy · 03/06/2008 11:44

Course you can. The kids wear the same pair all year don't they?

Arf at cod - just cos you love to flaunt your lovely pins!
