ah, now, I am just in process of swapping. Enjoyed 8 years of sec (inc 2 as Head of Year) then had 2 shitty years p/t and HATED it. gave up and had 2 years at home.
cash flow situ necessitated return to work so took TA jon at my dd's school just to get back in classroom. I am with yr 5/6 and I LOVE it. So now I am swapping over to primary asap.
Kids are delightful, friendly, eager-faced though bit annoyingly fussy at times. Staff are sweet, supportive - though i MISS blokes in staffroom.

see im torn, i love young children and everyone says i should go primary but it all seems too twee and very female orientaeted, (no offence to any primary teachers at all)

i love the subject i would be teaching in secondary but not sure if im ready for the dog eat dog ness

Better blardy not have to, marm. There is a transition course available - 6-10 weeks iirc? - but I am hoping to get away with doing bits of supply etc and worming my way in that way. being as I am already working in a school an all.
