Which shoes with wide leg trousers over winter?

I have been enjoying wearing wide leg trousers recently but as we approach winter I'm not sure what shoes to wear with them. I usually wear flat boots at work from about September to April. Is that going to go? Any other tips?

I kept mine for inclement weather.
Fashion rules don't apply when you need to be practical.

If I’m wearing anything other than trainers I like them slightly above ankle and then flat boots or loafers work otherwise I don’t think they tend to look good

I have remained a skinny jeans and boots wearer for this reason 🥲 as long as you wear a “current” top half it’s ok I think.

Lots of good suggestions and seems like other folk are needing solutions as well. I think I'm more drawn to a chunky loafer but not as comfy or practical as boots or trainers.

I sorted out my wardrobe this afternoon and so many skinny jeans, leggings and long jumper/dresses to wear with them. Not really my style at the moment but kept them anyway.
