Fine, that's sorted then, a tracksuit and blanket to keep warm.

With a nice hat of course!

I want to be warm

I have some black wedge sandals (good for grass walking)

But that's all for a start....

What shape are you?
What sort of clothes do you feel comfortable in?
Personally I'd probably wear white trousers with a darker shoulderless top, but that might make you look odd or feel uncomfortable

Notyummy · 02/06/2008 13:26

I would wear fab maxi dress (suits everyone)

With flat shoes (silver flip flops/gladiator sandals?) so not falling over in paddock

And nice cardi/pashmina style thing for when it gets chilly.

SNoraWotzThat · 02/06/2008 13:28

maxi dress? like what?

I am 40ish- larger than a twig smaller than a bus
about size 16.

I have white jeans but I am worried about wearing them unless I have a very posh floaty long (covers bum) top!

SNoraWotzThat · 02/06/2008 13:31

I have some red pumps?
White trousers? Red pumps Yes - No?

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 02/06/2008 13:31

height?
Big bust or small bust?

SNoraWotzThat · 02/06/2008 13:31

5' 8'

bigger top than hips!

v necks look better on me. Or square necks.

Which race meeting is it? Are you in an enclosure or in with Jo Public?

A nice floaty dress would be good but the problem with that is that if it's raining you end up looking like a drowned rat. I suggest having two outfits to chose from - wet and dry.

Not white trousers if it's wet - you'll end up with mud all over them.

Karen Millen ones are quite dressy...but GORGEOUS IMHO!

VictorianSqualor · 02/06/2008 13:42

I'd say something like this top with light weight white trousers, and some lush accessories, red handbag shoes, bangles, no necklace though, with that top I think it would make the neck look over encumbered.
Not sure about the satin belt on the top though, I'd probably swap it with a white belt.
Red nails, and your red pumps.

SNoraWotzThat · 02/06/2008 13:42

in nice (hopefully) enclosure Aintree - um mud on white - ekk !

I like those maxi dresses but I'm 5'8'' and atm about a 14/16, I wouldn't feel comfortable in them, I think they look tentish if you're bigger than about a 12 or not extremely tall.
Best to accentuate your assets IMO.

But it's all about what you feel comfortable in, hope we haven't confused you with totally different outfits!

VictorianSqualor · 02/06/2008 13:49

I like this outift.

Another one!

Notyummy · 02/06/2008 13:52

Trousers might be best if you wnat to keep warm mind!

Take the point about sizing. Guess you would have to try one on to see if they flatter. I love 'em, but am 5 ft 9 and 10/12 (pear shaped), so may have opposite body shape to you!

SNoraWotzThat · 02/06/2008 13:53

I feel uncomfortable with fitted tops, like the shirt (lovely though), I feel like a weeble wobble as legs are thinish! Bust is a size bigger than hips. Look like I'd fall over.
