Cashmere twinset - yay or nay?

Boden has some cashmere jumpers & cardigans this season in colours that really suit me ( leaf green melange and mocha). A bonus being 15% off atm.
I'm late 50s, size 12/14, hourglass with large chest.
I love the idea of a twinset, but worry it would look dated. I probably like it because I wore similar decades ago.
I'm talking about a round neck jumper and cardigan.
Do I size up to look more current?? Or is it just a no?
I want to finally start buying myself nice things and want longevity. Simple is good. I like plain, uncluttered, semi-fitted. I am very (too) casual most of the time ( but want to up my game with good use of colour, texture etc). I don't need to worry about work clothes.
I don't like being cold, so double cashmere sounds lush!

Interesting range of opinions & plenty of styling ideas to play around with. I'm slightly embarrassed it hadn't occurred to me to mix different colours.
@damemaggiescurledupperlip absolutely!

My Mum loved a twin set, but she would have had them in botany wool instead. (What is botany wool?) This would have been in the 50s and 60s.

It’s Merino Lambswool.

More affordable than cashmere and very slightly more hardwearing but still very beautiful.

I still have some left from the 90's would buy more!

Oooohhhhh, I love a twin set, me. It was my very first grown-up, flattering garment purchase (and, to be honest... probably the last!).

If I had one now (and you HAVE put the idea in my head!), I'd probably wear it with hiking boots (thanks to lifestyle) and plus-fours (thanks to Sewing Bee).

OP, I have to say, I think you win the prize for the most quintessentially MN thread title I've seen on here for a long time 😍

That sounds fabulous.

I want a twinset and plus fours now! I already wear hiking boots every day (farming).

I love a twin set but sadly the granny chic look is just pure granny on me nowadays. And the menopausal belly isn’t flattered either.

I keep getting Boden FB ads pop up with Alison Hope who I think might be a style influencer (?) and it looks like she is wearing a red twinset. (She looks good!)
