Sleepless nights - anyone used or can recommend a snoozeband

Hello, I get so many adverts for snoozebands, they seem expensive and there are similar products on-line - noise cancelling bluetooth blackout eye masks
can anyone recommend one please ?

I have a Snoozeband. Really helps me to sleep. You can set it to turn off after an hour. I have some sleep playlists on my Apple Music and BBC Sounds have some good ones too.
comfy enough for side sleepers.

Puppylucky · 06/09/2025 21:37

I absolutely love my Snoozeband. My husband is a rowdy sleeper but this blocks him out and is comfortable enough to wear all night. I play rainstorm playlists from Spotify which are strangely soothing

afaloren · 06/09/2025 22:14

DH wears one every night, absolutely
swears by it and takes it when going away!

EffectivelyDecluttering · 06/09/2025 22:21

I have one but it never stays on all night, I can fall asleep with it on but always pull it off in the night, it is always on the floor in the morning. It isn't 100% comfortable, I hate it if it slips down a bit onto my eyebrows. DH has one too and they do leak noise a bit.

ChocoChocoLatte · 06/09/2025 22:21

It’s a no from me. Didn’t work. I bought the earplugs with the hoops (can’t remember their name) instead and they were slightly better.

StacieBenson · 06/09/2025 22:25

I have tried two snoozebands. The basic model was fine but the velcro fastening it together only lasted a year. The deluxe version is probably not necessary unless you like sleep masks. On the whole I would recommend though. It does an excellent job of drowning out DH's snoring.

ResusciAnnie · 06/09/2025 22:35

I’ve read about people who wake up deaf after falling asleep with earphones playing all night! Make sure you’ve got the turn-off timer on, or play sound into the room rather directly into your ear hole if you want it on all night. Friend has irreversible hearing loss, not from that, but not worth the risk as our hearing is so delicate.

Diversion · 06/09/2025 22:41

My sleep is awful and I cannot sleep with something around my head. I use a dream egg also fondly known as the noise crumpet along with a fan. I run hot generally, but both help to drown out the noise of the main road in front of us which seems to vary dependent on the wind direction and if the weather is wet.

Just a standard eye mask can really help-£3 from eBay.

NapoleonsToe · 06/09/2025 22:44

I've had a snoozeband and a cheaper generic version like the Amazon one linked above.

The snoozeband has a much better battery life and the fabric isn't as hot. I also like that it's adjustable, though mine does slip a bit. It's this one:

teawamutu · 06/09/2025 23:00

I've only had the cheap generic ones but they've changed my life. Lifelong horrible insomnia kept at bay by listening to a nice soothing podcast.

Cannot recommend highly enough.

EffectivelyDecluttering · 06/09/2025 23:00

Ah, I didn't notice you said eye mask, just the snoozeband bit. I keep my snoozeband up on my forehead as I don't like the feel of things over my eyes and hate waking up in the dark. They might stay on better as a mask

MrSpocksWife · 07/09/2025 07:01

Thanks all, I use an eyemask and earplugs, but the tinitus keeps me awake - I was hoping the hype on the snoozebands was true, I think it's the white/brown noise I am missing - I sleep in the loft bedroom sometimes. where it is quiet and still have a dreadful nights sleep. I did not know they came with a timer.
I really think I will buy one now.

I have used Bose Sleep Buds for years (tiny, comfortable earphones that play white noise all night long), but they’ve discontinued them, so I wanted to look for an alternative when they inevitably give up the ghost. I tried the Snoozeband Deluxe (or whatever the pink satin one is), and I thought it was dreadful by comparison 😬 I could hear everything still, it kept slipping and the Velcro fastening wasn’t for me.

Fortunately, there is an alternative to the Bose ones by a company called Oslo. Very expensive, but invaluable as far as I am concerned .

Well, I've just taken the plunge - and after reading reviews on-line have just ordered these
currys earbuds
after reading this review
there is £20 off at Curry's today.
I'll let you know how I go on.

@MrSpocksWifei too have tinnitus thanks to a previous job and there is a way to re-set just for a moments respite.

I’ll try to describe but it really does work!

ChocoChocoLatte · 07/09/2025 19:42

@MrSpocksWife

Place your left thumb in your left ear and do the same with your right.

Try to ‘plug’ them if that makes sense.

Turn your hands to the back of your head (keeping your thumbs plugging both your ears) and use your fingers to find where the base of your skull meets the nape of your neck.

and tap. I do it quite hard, it’s not a gently tippy tap lol eight taps works for me.

it’s like a reset switch.

feck all use when you have a frozen shoulder but brilliant if you can get it to work!

Hope it helps

I've just tried, the tinnitus is still there - but it does seem a little quieter, perhaps it takes a few attempts.

@MrSpocksWifekeep trying, I was amazed at it working. It’s literally just a quick reset but nice on bad days.

A Snoozeband is too hot and squashes my hair. I sleep on my side with one Powerbeats Pro earpiece in. I hardly feel it. Somehow I manage to change it over if I turn over in the night, but I rarely wake up properly, and hardly ever recall doing it the next morning!

I have this problem with insomnia - thanks for this thread and the useful contributions !

MrSpocksWife · 14/09/2025 09:11

I tried the sleep earbuds - wow how trippy they were - hated them and the noises, birds cheeping and thunder and lightening - I found really hard to tolerate. I have sent them back to currys after one use - hated them sorry.
Back to my earplugs and eye mask.

Op you didn’t try the snooze band then? Just trying to decide whether to buy it.
