I'm glad Catherine is wearing the pearls. They need to be worn!

Kate looks 10 years younger with her hair down. She needs the softness imo.

Still hat we that skirt though.

Maireas · 16/06/2025 20:37

I disagree, I really like some of her updo styles, they're often very chic.

I assume at some point, possibly when she becomes Queen, Catherine will join the order of the garter,

I like that she is versatile with her hairstyle. Much as, for example, Anne finds her style practical, it is rather boring and was very ageing on her when she was younger (I think she has caught up with it now 😆). Catherine is able to change her style to suit the occasion and / or the head attire she is wearing

I would assume she would, Camilla was added shortly before she became Queen.

Sophie will presumably be added as well at some point.

They do tend to make the ladies wait - the Duchess of Gloucester was only added last year. I think Princess Alexandra was a good age when she was added as well.

And hair up shows off those very pretty earrings she often wears - which belonged to the late Queen apparently.

Sidebeforeself · 16/06/2025 22:27

I still think Kates hair would benefit from a few inches off

Eaumyword · 16/06/2025 22:51

I think Kate looks absolutely stunning today.

Pallisers · 16/06/2025 23:47

I liked both Catherine and Sophie's outfits - also they looked nice together. Sophie's shoes were far nicer but I think Catherine rarely gets shoes right (I say that as someone who wears slip on sketchers most of the time so who am I to judge). But the pearls were gorgeous. I loved the hat and the skirt was veering toward pretty whereas Catherine usually goes for elegant and I'd love to see more pretty.

My absolutely favourite look of hers was years ago on a tour of Canada/US when she went to Hollywood - sorry for daily mail link

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2013092/Duchess-Cambridge-Kate-Middleton-Prince-William-Red-carpet-royals-Hollywood.html

It reminded me of my favourite young diana look - I think she was pregnant with William (although when wasn't poor Diana young?)

i'd love to know where that dress is now. It was such a fairy tale gown.

The red carpet royals: Hollywood's glitterati turn out in force to welcome William and Kate to Tinseltown

Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman and Tom Hanks were among the Hollywood royalty who rubbed shoulders wit the Duke and Duchess at a glittering Bafta dinner.

I love that lavender/pale lilac dress that Kate is wearing in the article that @Pallisers has posted.

I liked what Kate & Sophie wore today at the Garter Service - it's giving me a bit of an Edwardian vibe albeit with shorter skirts not long ones.

I think that dresses that take a bit of inspiration from the Edwardian period from around the early 1900s, and then the period after up to the very early 1940s really suit Kate.
I could see Kate in a 1920's flapper dress too.

Kate, Sophie & Beatrice are my favourite royals along with their children. Anne does a great job too!

I’d love to see what the PofW wears to private parties. When she dresses to please herself.

She looked really good when she had it cut quite a bit shorter some years ago, it really suited her. Of course now she's trapped in a way, because if she cuts it anytime soon everyone will freak out and make a huge deal about it given the situation with her health.

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 17/06/2025 08:49

@Pallisers I always think of that dress as Diana's true fairytale dress, as opposed to her wedding dress. It looks so dreamy in that photograph (pardon the pun).

Lifestooshort71 · 17/06/2025 09:47

Someone on MN suggested C might be growing her hair long in order to chop a chunk off and donate to a cancer charity. Now that would be something....!

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 17/06/2025 09:50

I'm not sure she could do that, tbh. There are issues with DNA and such; just don't think it's something they would do. But she does a lot for charities in other ways.

I agree it would be interesting.

My niece wore that Self Portrait dress Kate wore at the Garter Ceremony at her post wedding dinner party. She had a teeny tiny wedding and then her parents held a dinner in a restaurant a couple of weeks later for those of their family and friends they didn’t / couldn’t invite to the wedding. The bride’s parents had been to loads of weddings of their friend’s dc and wanted to celebrate with them and family.
It was gorgeous on her.

eggandonion · 17/06/2025 12:04

Best sort of wedding!

She did that once before, when it was cut shorter on a previous occasion. I can't remember the name of the charity, but it was to make wigs for children with cancer.

No problem with the DNA because you need the hair follicle for that. She has done it before.

It's The Little Princess Trust, appropriate enough.

Ah that's really sweet.
