Saggy mouth and jaw help needed (pic attached)

I’m 52 and this is the area that ages me the most. I have had filler in my cheeks in the past and don’t want any more there. I do use one of those electro current machines (Foreo Bear) but didn’t this morning.

What can I do? My skin is actually quite good elsewhere on my face. I have a spot of pigmentation in the photo but it’s the only one I have. I use sunscreen/retinol (can’t use tretinoin as I have rosacea). My main issue is the sagging.

if you have the money, softwave and/or co2 laser are great for tightening and lift, but each are around 2k+

Ohdeariemenotgood · 27/05/2025 10:45

@LoraPiano thanks! I’ll look into those.

I don"t think you have any sagging. But then I always think that on these type of posts.

Ohdeariemenotgood · 27/05/2025 11:58

@CharlotteRumpling thanks! I definitely do. Love your username 😍

The sagging is slight, you haven’t gone jowly! The trouble with the non surgical methods is that they often have downtime, can be uncomfortable, results don’t last long, and cost a lot. At your age I would be trying a good quality LED mask and using it consistently, try Tretinoin and may be try face exercises which need doing every day. Home devices are much weaker than salon ones, and won’t make a lot of difference if not used consistently.

CookingFatCat · 27/05/2025 12:27

Try massage or face yoga. You have to be consistent.
Gua Sha also.

CookingFatCat · 27/05/2025 12:28

You look good for 52 though.

CharlotteRumpling · 27/05/2025 12:30

OP looks great with a really pretty jaw

I think beauty standards for women are just ridiculous these days. Perhaps a topic for another thread though.

Ohdeariemenotgood · 27/05/2025 13:34

Thanks everyone. I do have an LED mask which I need to get back out. I can’t use tretinoin unfortunately as my skin is really sensitive, I’m still dealing with rosacea from the last attempt!

Hi OP, I am 50 with the same issue- more saggy than you. Like you also had check fillers, but they haven’t helped the pre jowl area. I am deciding whether to have the Nefertiti neck/ jawlift with Botox or Pre Jowel Sulcus filler.

Not ready for a lower face lift yet. I have booked a consultation with a different clinic to discuss options.

stringsoup · 27/05/2025 18:45

From what I can see of your face you look like Carey Mulligan, beautiful.

TatteredAndTorn · 27/05/2025 20:16

How long have you been using the FOREO bear?

Ohdeariemenotgood · 27/05/2025 20:19

@SuperFi - let me know how you get on! Wrinkles I can cope with, but I hate the sagging! I’m going to get the LED mask out again.

Wow, what a lovely compliment. Thank you. I have had a look and my lower face is a bit like hers, just saggier 😂

I’ve been using it for ages. It definitely lifts my slightly sagging brows but not sure about lower face. Think I need the big guns 🤣

Following as I’m the same age just about and look very similar. Just this last year I’m aware of my skin being looser. Also rosacea so had to stop tret even retinol . I think I may have to just go down the surgery route. I am not ready to look like a senior citizen. My brain feels about 16!

SuperFi · 27/05/2025 20:27

Will do👍 Consultation on Saturday. Got to say heard mixed reports with Nefertiti lift, some are better candidates than others it seems.
@MaggieBsBoat 😆😆 same here!

I'm 10 years younger than you and my sagging is worse! Not trying to derail your thread, I put a post up around the same time as u this morning and didn't really get replies so interested in ur thread. WHAT LED mask do u have op? I was thinking about one or a micro/nano current device, its really getting me down, I look so much older than women younger than me. Would really appreciate any advice too.

I like Dr Amir Karam on YouTube, he is a plastic surgeon who specialises in facial rejuvenation , he does very detailed videos on treatments, skincare and devices, and what you need to look for when buying devices for home use

Ummm I’ve bought one to help with this issue so disappointing to hear you’ve seen no results. Have been a bit scared to use it after the warnings that came with it that it can cause flashing lights in eyes 😳. I’ve also seen a few posts online complaining it’s caused fat loss. The only one with pics though looked ok to me, and just like normal aging. In this particular report she said it had happened in the three months that she’d been using it and “aging doesn’t happen that quickly” but it does. You age slowly and they then are short bursts if aging where things seem to go awry overnight! So my conclusion was that it wasn’t the device. What are your thoughts on this? Any concerns it could have made things worse?

It’s definitely not worse than mine! Have you had filler at all? Some cheek filler really helped me at your age.

I think the Currentbody mask is supposed to be good. I’ve got some French brand but it’s no good in the box as I keep forgetting to use it!

Well I might be even worse if I stopped using it! 🤣 It definitely helps with my upper face. I don’t think there’s been anything sudden, I’m a bit tired at the moment and also I’ve been using a harsher acid cleanser on some stubborn spots along my jawline which may have made the skin a bit drier maybe.

I recommend O'Keefes lip repair overnight balm. I have the start of sagging (late 40s) but this balm makes my lips smooth and healthy (I think a bit plumper) I think makes me look a bit younger in that area.
