Really Comfy Heels

Shambles123 · 22/05/2025 11:03

I am looking for a pair of gorgeous evening summer heeled shoes, neutral as only want to take one pair away for whole week. Will be a city week though so need them to be super comfy for walking a lot! Not keen on kitten heels!

Anyone have any brands they could recommend?

Depends how you are prepared to balance the comfort v gorgeousness?!

If you are erring towards extreme comfort then Hotter is a winner. These are as close as you get to evening summer sandals with hotter this season. Vionic and Gabor are worth a look too.

I feel Carvela/Kurt Geiger heels are as comfy as heels can be. Had a few pairs over the years and they’re always my faves x

I dont think you can walk a lot in heels and expect to be comfortable really! What about a wedge? Will you be walking on cobbles..every time I go abroad I seem to end up on cobbles!

ICantBeDoingWithThat · 22/05/2025 11:19

Hotter or Pavers. You do have to compromise though. Glamorous evening sandals and comfortable walking shoes are completely different animals, unfortunately.

I agree on cobbles. Have some wedges but Im a bit meh about them and have only got hand luggage so they will take up room/be heavier than sandals.

Off to check out recommendations with a slightly heavy heart as they are MILs shoe brands...

General point taken!

Air and Grace or Esska - both super comfy and way more stylish than Hotter or Pavers. I have managed European city cobbles in both of these.

jeaux90 · 22/05/2025 13:29

Ugg so really comfortable platform and wedge sandals I have several pairs. Esska or Chie Mihari for special very very comfortable heels

SmoothRoads · 22/05/2025 13:32

If you want to be comfortable, category A walking shoes are your best bet.

If you want heels, then I have no idea. I have never been comfortable in them. They only ever looks nice, but they provide no support and no comfort and if you have to walk around in painful feet, you won't enjoy the day much.

Shambles123 · 22/05/2025 13:33

Thank you for the further recommendations, off to look at them.

I'll be trainers or sliders in day! Its just for the evenings that I do like to dress up a bit (and dh and I will be on our own!).

Sole Bliss?

obsessedlex · 22/05/2025 13:44

Another vote for Esska here - I wore them for my wedding in Vegas and actually ended up climbing up the red rock canyon trails in them!! The ones with name beginning C are slightly lower than V's

Shambles123 · 22/05/2025 13:45

The Chie Mihari sandals are gorgeous. More than I can justify this year but they are on my wishlist now, hadn't heard of them before so thank you @jeaux90

Yes both of these. Esska can come up quite wide though. I have narrow feet so I can only wear some of them (Charlie - their most popular brand is too wide for me).

I have ordered these to see if will work, am normally a 7 but it says they can be a bit small so went with a 7.5. Hoping they work given bargain price!

Have you seen no think shoes ? They have different heel heights and styles that are interchangeable.

Shetlands · 22/05/2025 16:59

I like the sandals you've ordered - they look perfect for what you need. I don't wear them that high any more but I used to!

My most comfortable heels now are from this vintage style company so you'd need to like the vintage styles. I can wear them for hours!

I also have these (more day than evening wear):

and these (day wear mainly but look good with trousers & evening top too).

Edited to add that if you're a 7 in the UK, you might need an 8 with Memery as they're smaller.

BeakyFlinders · 22/05/2025 17:56

Don’t have any specific suggestions but I love heels with a small platform as you get the benefit with a little less pain!

MargaritaPracticallyCan · 22/05/2025 18:01

I bought a pair of low ish sandals from Phase Eight last year, bit of an impulse buy while I was buying a dress for my beloved mum's funeral (she wanted us to wear bright colours!)
The sandals are neutral, block heels, ankle strap, super comfy and look great with jeans or dresses. I'm 5ft11 and don't tend to wear heels, but these are great.

Sargasso and Grey? I wear flats but got a pair of heels for my 50th and wore them for a good 12 hours without a single grumble. They're beautifully made.

EllieEllie25 · 22/05/2025 18:12

These are designed by a podiatrist to be genuinely comfy and not ruin your feet. I haven’t tried them as they are expensive and only have shops in Australia and I’m nervous about ordering shoes online. But one day when I’m feeling rich and brave I will order a whole batch to try. They look amazing. https://baredfootwear.com/uk/collections/all-womens?category=%5B%22Heels%22%5D

Shambles123 · 22/05/2025 18:28

@EllieEllie25 they look gorgeous, agreed, on a future wish list!

Not sure about long walks but the Hobbs open toe (shoes?) sandals I bought for DD wedding were comfy all evening (fair bit of dancing).
