I need to switch something up - I've always used liquid foundation, and I like the coverage but I've noticed recently it's quite cakey and claggy almost as soon as I put it on so I think liquid is not working for me anymore as my skin ages.

Any recommendations of good products I could use instead?

After being a die hard DW fan I've just taken delivery of the sheer version and it's absolutely lovely , thoroughly recommended it. I used it over Estee Lauder watery glow primer. Covers redness where needed but super light.

I’m 15 years older than you and have never been keen on wearing foundation but I love love love No7 Intelligent Colour. So much so that I’m terrified they may stop making it so I am on a mission to make sure that everyone uses it!
I also have tried the Jones Road which I like too.

Yes! This is my go to if I i want to look a bit more made up - mine is in the black tube (I bulk bought it in fear it would go or change) and love the feel of it, almost a tinted serum? It doesn't cover my skin up but enhances the colour and evens it all out a bit. Oh, nearly 73.
Edited to add - the No7 one!

I use primer+ givenchy prisme libre loose powder for a subtle glow. Don't bother with foundation at all.
