NL - don’t like the back of the Zara one, trying too hard and failing.

Same here. The New Look one's more overtly "Japanese work jacket" or whatever this style is actually called. The Zara one can't make up its mind whether it's a traditional denim jacket, a shirt, or a patch-pocketed artisan's overgarment.

I think the NL one would've been improved with ungathered cuffs, but I'm being a tedious purist.

Both ok, but I'm without doubt older than you and the ONLY denim jacket you ever invested in was a Levi's one 😊

It's probably why I picked the Zara one (khaki). The faded stonewash is not to my taste at all.

It's a lot of money for a shapeless not-shirt-not-jacket. Looks quite nice in the olive colour but not the others.

The New Look one is better, or go for a more traditional design. The Zara one is neither here nor there.

I also prefer the NL one.

I have a very similar one bought from M&S about 3 or 4 years ago, also in light denim blue and of longer length. I’ve found it extremely useful both over skirts and trousers and I’ve worn it a lot. Very good with white jeans, for example.

Not keen on either as I prefer denim jackets to end at the waist.

Zara. The other one looks more like a utility work jacket. Not a fan of the elongated denim jackets as a whole however.

It depends on your size and shape. I wouldn't wear either as I am tall, big boobed and apple shaped so need flowing, drapey or semi tailored styles to not look like a cart horse. If you look like the models you can get away with either.

I prefer the Zara one. It showed up in black which I prefered the stitching on but that's me, not you. I think given that you're into the paler denim, my Zara preference is minimal enough to say, either and go with your gut.
