I prefer the NL one.
Quite frankly I’m distracted by the models knickers in the Zara one, not a good look.

Definitely the New Look. I think the chore coat shape is more current. The Zara one looks more like one I wore 10/15 years ago.

I prefer the shape and colour of the new look one.

i don’t like the curved hem of the Zara one.

I really dislike the NL one. Not my style, but definitely prefer the Zara jacket of the two.

They both look like shirts. Maybe that's the point?

Of the 2 choices, the new look one. I don't like the curve cut of the zara one, it just looks a bit odd.

I really like the Ralph Lauren one. Both of the ones in the op look like they’d be shapeless on. But the RL one is out of stock so moot I guess.

I don't like either. They look more like shirts. I prefer a jacket to have more structure. And own a trad, short one myself.

I'd go with Zara, OP - it looks a bit better structured and longer lasting than the New Look one.

With that said if you're in need of a denim jacket and you're willing to look elsewhere... I LOVE my M&S one!

Don’t love the boxy shape of either really, I prefer something a bit more fitted or they absolutely drown me.

@themumformerlyknownas , I prefer that style. They seem to be a bit more perennial than the shirt-jacket style.

That's the one I have. I love it and have worn it so much. I bought it 5 years ago during lockdown.
