Pants for vulva problems!

Mercier1 · 07/04/2025 22:22

This is a weird embarrassing problem that google hasn’t helped with. I have lichen sclerosis, and vulval atrophy is part of that. I recently have found my outer labia have lost fullness and feel really ‘open’ and basically flap around. Cringe.

anyways I really need underwear which support my fanny, it’s making me feel uncomfortable. Does anyone have a product recommendation? It’s support for the labia I really need. 🥲

Would period pants help? Or ordinary big pants, Bridget Jones style?

Hoydenish · 07/04/2025 22:28

You want a wider gusset maybe?

Mercier1 · 07/04/2025 22:29

I think a more supportive gusset? I have period pants but for everyday wear I don’t love them.

Marks and Spencers Period pants are brilliant

TianasBayou · 07/04/2025 22:35

The big Wirapa brand from Amazon are a sturdy cotton with a decent cotton gusset. A bit Bridget Jones but worth a try.

Would vaginal oestrogen help? It has helped for vaginal atrophy for me. Outer labia are much fuller.

Yes I use this. Recently lost 4 stone and think it’s the overall plumpness!

I like the M&S shorts - light support shape wear. I don’t have the same issue as you, but expect it would help you.

I think losing weight means your current pa ts are baggy and flap around (see what I did there?!). I lost nearly 10kgs in the summer and my pants were very airy. Just get some decently stretchy, tightish ones, at least 2 sizes down from your old ones.

tipsyraven · 07/04/2025 22:58

Thunderpants are very robust. Pricey though.

MiserableMrsMopp · 07/04/2025 22:59

I have similar (not LC, but VA) and have also lost a lot of weight.

I was thinking of making some fabric period pads (without the waterproof liner bit). Because for me, it's when the fabric of the underwear goes inside my labia. And the seam of leggings/trousers.

Worth every penny imo. I discovered them years ago in NZ and bought a load to take back with me to the UK. They last for years, keep their elasticity and are really "supporting" for the undercarriage, if you know what I mean.

Thank you for this post @Mercier1- I’m reassured, but still saddened, that so many of us are in the same boat. I find cheeky pants good. Supportive and practical for leakage.

ReignBeauDash · 08/04/2025 09:53

You need Mardy Pants! Super comfy, lovely thick stretchy fabric and a proper gusset that will do exactly what you want. Look up Mardybum Boutique on facebook or instagram. Not cheap because they're handmade to order but honestly so worth the money.

Thanks gang. I wore Wuka period pants yesterday as a test and no joy so I’m gonna try going for tiny small tight but sturdy pants and I’ll report back. Basically need a bra for my fanny :-/

I get trousers pants from Primark. Big and feel secure.
I got them to wear under trousers at work and wear them all the time now.
Not sure if they still do them. These are ok

Some vagifem (v. low dose vaginal oestrogen in the form of a pessary) works wonders for atrophy. If you haven't tried some, ask your doctor.

This might sound daft but would hyaluronic acid gel not plump things up down there? I use a Cos de Baha one I got from Amazon which plumps my lips (on my face) up and it's literal job is to do that so surely it would help for other areas too. In addition to the oestrogen cream

These are what you need. They are so supportive and yet also incredibly soft. Pricey but worth every penny
