Pants for vulva problems!

Mercier1 · 07/04/2025 22:22

This is a weird embarrassing problem that google hasn’t helped with. I have lichen sclerosis, and vulval atrophy is part of that. I recently have found my outer labia have lost fullness and feel really ‘open’ and basically flap around. Cringe.

anyways I really need underwear which support my fanny, it’s making me feel uncomfortable. Does anyone have a product recommendation? It’s support for the labia I really need. 🥲

I second the Wirarpa boy shorts. Never had such comfortable pants and they wash really well. I swim a lot and kept getting some sort of jock itch in my creases. Couldn’t bear ordinary knickers. I’m so glad you started this conversation, because I have a friend with pelvic congestion syndrome, and I wanted to tell her about my wonder pants but didn’t like to raise it. I will now.

May I suggest a thong? Because it’s higher at the back, it’s much more snug at the front. Like a little fanny hammock!

Gilly Hicks ladies boxer shorts are very comfortable, fit snughly but not tight, might do the trick

Op, I posted a link to a uk based Facebook LS support group a couple of threads down and I’m sure if you join you’ll get good advise from the members.

Boody bikini style pants are really supportive and made of bamboo so natural/breathable.

They do other styles, which I haven’t tried, but the material is generally slightly thicker and very supportive, so imagine they are all quite similar and just a matter of preference (I also have a top and leggings).

They wash and last very well too and maintain the high level of support over time.

I wear giant granny pants that are 2 sizes bigger and I am ashamed to say that when I am at home I wear long skirts or pyjama bottoms and no knickers, it really helps.

I have lichen sclerosis too and went through the same issues. I found the above pants were a life saver and very comfy too.

Tesco Shapewear big knicks. They are really supportive and comfy.

Flowette period pants full brief are often on sale for 8 pounds each

I was about to also say M and s period pants. I wear them all the time because the crotch feels really secure. Also I’m late third trimester and extremely swollen down there (and very unevenly!) and they really help to smooth things out!

In case it helps the underlying problem there is lovely Dr called Shirin Lakhani her clinic is Elite Aesthetics. She treats LC and has been on TV embarrassing bodies/This Morning.

Sloggi pants - very enfolding with just a touch of comfortable stretchiness.

Thanks gang. I wore Wuka period pants yesterday as a test and no joy so I’m gonna try going for tiny small tight but sturdy pants and I’ll report back. Basically need a bra for my fanny :-/

Bless you sweetheart i do feel for you. I was in a similar situation very sore VA and tried sooo many things. My lips dangle really low and are constantly sore, everything rubs them and they had tiny tears like paper cuts. They get trapped and caught constantly. Even walking was painful.
read online that coconut oil helps and its anti microbial too. Started using it a month ago and its been a game changer. I slather it on so nothing is rubbing down there. I reapply after going for a wee and for bed. So several times a day! Im pretty much healed now, I can now swim again too without painful chafing.
Its super cheap and worth a try! I do like a wide cotton gusset knicker too

I was so pleased to read this post. I’ve finally had an answer to the discomfort I have been experiencing for some time now. I wear a large panti liner all of the time which does help but I must have dozens of various types of underwear to try and obtain under carriage comfort. It’s a personal thing so not discussed with friends or family so I thought it was just happening to me. The posts on here make it obvious it’s not. I too have times when my nix have been chaffing but due to being in a public place could not adjust my underwear I often see women with tight jeans and wonder how they don’t feel uncomfortable but I wore them once so I can’t remember when it changed for me. My granddaughter once made the comment (age about 3) ‘my bums eating my nickers’. Me in a nutshell.
