What can I do with my non-existent eyebrows that’s not micro blading?

I can’t afford expensive treatments but the amount I’ve spent on pencils/powders/serums/god knows what else I probably could have. Is there anything that actually works, lasts and looks natural without breaking the bank?

I feel very hard done by in the brow dept as I have NEVER plucked them, have always preferred the dark, bushy look. And while my brows were never full, they've now dwindled to very sparse, colourless, hard-to-dye hairs.

I posted on this subject a while back (sorry, MN search doesn't come up with the thread) and got some helpful answers. A few people suggested using the dye beauticians use, because it's stronger than anything you can buy in shops - but alas it didn't make any difference on me. Then I tried beard dye, which did leave a little bit of colour, but I still had to augment every day.

I'm never going to get anything permanent or semi-permanent done, having seen a friend's brow tattoo turn gradually blue-er despite expensive top-ups. (I don't see how tattoos etc are cheaper in the long run - my £20 brow products last years!) But some posters seem to have had luck finding a brow genius.

Anyway I've come to the conclusion that my brows are resistant to anything beauty science can throw at them, and I'm back on draw-it-yourself (currently RMS brow powder and their 'special' applicator brush - which I apply on top of wet, clear mascara to make it last longer). Some days they turn out fine, other days I can spend 10 minutes faffing around with cotton buds and make-up remover.

Final moan: although I always go for a taupe/grey brown colour - in pomade, pencil, powder or whatever - it's always too dark on. And 'blonde' is too red/warm. What's with that!

Anyway good luck OP, hope you find a solution that works for you.

Whatever you do DO NOT MICROBLADE!!

they ALL fade to grey/green eventually.

If you’re lucky enough not to have had yellow used in your ink you can pay to have them lasered off. If not - you’re stuck with them FOREVER!!

Thank you for this. I had no idea and it’s something I’d be interested in pursuing.

Would you lose your eyebrows even temporarily or does it just remove the pigment.

I think some people are lucky. I treat a lot of peoples faces and I would say 90-95% of micro blading looks shockingly bad after 3 years. The ink bleeds and fades and they’re generally left with a green/grey splodge. Hopefully yours stay like that.

Mine are nothing like that at all. I just want to remove the tattooing as I don’t want to have them done again.

Look up the makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes. She plucked her eyebrows as a teen to almost nothing and they never grew back. She draws them in now with eyebrow makeup and they look incredible!

Transfers! I love them. Have virtually no eyebrows due to fibromyalgia and menopause but I love the transfers. Cheap and effective. Last me a week with a little top up g
from a liquid eyebrow pencil.

I've ordered a set!

No you don’t lose eyebrows at all. The sensation isn’t pleasant but totally worth it!

I have this minorly, but just don't want to microblade.

@SassK @ExtraDecluttering - I don’t suppose either of those MU’s are London or SE based?

No, mine is in Scotland.

marbleel · 21/03/2025 11:24

Don’t know if anyone has mentioned lamination? I know when you think of lamination it’s these huge crazy brows but when you have sparse brows it just gives them a fuller look which can then be shaped. I pay £30 every 6 weeks.

Mine was SE but she has largely moved into a different area of work now for health reasons so I don’t think she’s still doing it (nothing on her website now). If mine needed topping up I’d get in touch and ask or ask for recommendations for someone else. Sorry, that’s not much help.

I've decided to live with what nature intended. I'm just not a hairy person.

I found exactly the right colour (for me anyway) taupe but brown not too dark. It’s Collection, incredibrow plastic not a pencil in brunette. Perfect! Also use it as lip liner too lol

Oh that's worrying about microblading - I know lots of people who have it but I am a bit scared of anything permanent.

The best product I've found so far is Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows - it gives a natural look as the brush is so small but it doesnt last as long as they claim.

Do you literally have no eyebrows? My friend recommended this too but she has something there...

I have had my awful blobby grey microbladed eyebrows lasered off, yes, don't have them done!!

RockStarMartini · 24/03/2025 11:08

No I'm being a bit of a drama queen- I do have some but they are very thin and very pale.

I went and had HD brows done on Friday and it looked so good in the mirror when she'd finished but already the dye that was supposed to fix to my skin has gone and I'm left with slightly darker thin lines 🙄

Have you used Rapidbrow? Apply 2 x a day.

It's always worked for me.

Takes 6 weeks to see new growth and then you have to keep going with it.

RockStarMartini · 24/03/2025 14:07

I've found Rapidbrow OK in the past but the last one I had didnt do anything - I'm wondering if it was a fake as I know theyre around online.

Maybelline tattoo brows, it’s like a gel you brush on and then peel off only lasts a few days though but it’s quick and cheap!

I rate this stuff...although word of caution... I rocked up to work one morning and had a few odd looks...took a child that I work with asking "what's wrong with your face?" before I realised I had totally forgot to "peel" the initial brow off an had great big dark brown slug brows still drawn on...🤣

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 28/09/2025 20:32

@Peoplepleaserincrisisthat’s so funny! Just reminded me to sort my nonexistent brows again as well!

Wishimaywishimight · 28/09/2025 20:41

I have tried castor oil, various serums, many eyebrow palettes, pencils, pomades etc etc. By far the best for me is the Revolution (large) palette. Takes a bit of practice but my (very thin, faded)brows now look great.

Could you send me info please by PM?

Maybelline super fluff, Fabulous stuff. Brow aid is great too.
