What can I do with my non-existent eyebrows that’s not micro blading?

I can’t afford expensive treatments but the amount I’ve spent on pencils/powders/serums/god knows what else I probably could have. Is there anything that actually works, lasts and looks natural without breaking the bank?

I had mine microbladed and they’re awful. I hate them.

I am currently trying minoxidil, but it’ll take months for any results. Search on TikTok, there are a lot of posts about it.

I’ve had mine laser removed. It took two sessions and cost £100 for both. It was like a miracle!

RockStarMartini · 19/03/2025 11:56

Does anyone go old school and just tint them? I've had this done at a salon but they only tint the hair - I need something to fil in the gaps underneath and look like hair.

Sorry to interject, but that was not my experience with microblading. I went for a natural effect as I just wanted my sparse overplucked brows to have a clear shape, without overdoing it. It's still there, no fading and the strokes are still as visible as they were at the beginning.

Before going for it I was also thinking it's a LOT of money, but considering all the products I used to put on, with less perfect results, I don't think I am so much worse off money-wise.

I tint mine at home. It only takes a few minutes and lasts around 3 to 4 weeks. Without tinting they look very sparse and pale but with it I think they look quite decent.

DoodleDig · 19/03/2025 12:25

I just get them tinted, but I'm also looking for something that will make them look defined and tidy. They are also very sparse on the ends.

WorriedMutha · 19/03/2025 12:34

The purpose made brow tints make hardly any difference. I was recommended the Just for Men beard tints and they are way better. The colour grabs and lasts.

Greenfingers37 · 19/03/2025 12:39

Following too! I have a brow consultation on Friday and was thinking of going for micro blading-I’m worried now! I didn’t know they faded into a different colour! 😢
My brows are non existent-don’t know why as I’ve never plucked them.

MrsMitford3 · 19/03/2025 12:43

Just wondering why I never posted about this-reading with interest.

Mine are also so sparse from over plucking back in the day @RockStarMartini I am not a very make-up/product person and would love something just to fill it I guess. DS getting married next year and am already fretting about my bald brows...

Natty13 · 19/03/2025 13:12

My mum has the classic over plucked in the 80s brows and I bought her the UK lash eyebrow serum. It's worked like a miracle. New hairs started to grow after 6 weeks or so, it's been over a year now and tjeybare still thin but she has such a decent amount of brow that she does need to pluck/shape a little (!) and all it takes is some light pencilling makes them look fuller for occasions. It is good stuff.

RockStarMartini · 19/03/2025 13:14

I've tried Rapidbrow in the past and it's OK but interested to know about the one mentioned above - please could you link @Natty13 as I know there are fakes around.

I had to have three appointments for microblaiding. Hurt terribly and cost a fortune. Looked banging each time for about week then just disappeared: I’m left with v faded brows now 6 mths later and I still have feel I dye then and fill them in. Complete waste of time and money. And the pain!!! Ouch

DeclineandFall · 19/03/2025 14:36

I have overplucked 90s brows. I sorted mine with eyelash serum- The Ordinary or uk lash. I've heard minoxidil is good. I have them tinted and then use a sort of felt tip type thing from NYX to fill in any gaps.
I agree with not microblading- my colleague has weird green eyebrows now.

I think some people are lucky. I treat a lot of peoples faces and I would say 90-95% of micro blading looks shockingly bad after 3 years. The ink bleeds and fades and they’re generally left with a green/grey splodge. Hopefully yours stay like that.

Smoothandsmooth · 19/03/2025 14:50

@Criteria16 how long ago did you have yours done?

OP I used to use one of the RevitaLash products for my eyelashes. It was amazing BUT after a year I lost lots of the fat around my lids, which is a known (potential) effect. I don’t know if it’s the same if you target eyebrows instead…

I use eylure to dye my eyebrows, it helps although it’s not amazing. But then I use it to help with the greys. Assuming you don’t have any grey then I don’t know that it would help unless you have very pale hair?

RockStarMartini · 19/03/2025 14:51

I've got some fine/pale hairs so a tint or a brush-on product helps to make them show up a bit but it's the thinness and gaps I'd like to improve.

GiddyPlayer · 19/03/2025 14:56

Just for men hair beard dye, mix equal measures ( small pea size ) with small artists paintbrush apply it to eyebrows and the skin underneath into a brow shape, leave it for a minute or two then wipe off..voila!! Eyebrows

SparrowFeet · 19/03/2025 15:09

Personally I'm really happy with my powder brows. They haven't turned a weird colour and I've had them topped up since first having them about 4 years ago.
I have seen it happen with others but I think it's all in the SPMUA that does it.
Mine is a bit faded now but to be honest it looks just like I've penciled them in myself. I can't see how it's different using makeup to create the shape vs having them tattooed.

olympicsrock · 19/03/2025 15:09

Yes I tint my sparse eyebrows and add a brow Pencil/ pen to the outer 1/3. The tint makes a big difference.

RandomSocks · 19/03/2025 17:06

Benefit Goof Proof works for me - I use it every day.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 19/03/2025 17:47

Mine were never thick but are nowvfine, fair and sparse. I like to use clear mascara to shape what is, then a very fine pencil to lightly draw in brow hairs. I also find hst moisturising the brows gives the pencil a better key on the skin. Tried all sorts, now use the Primark fine pencil and a cheap clear mascara.

SassK · 19/03/2025 17:53

I had microblading 6 years ago (powder brows). My brows were an over plucked mess! The brow artist I went to does phibrows, and I'm so glad I did it. I've had two top ups now, 3 years apart (the pigment fades - the pigment colour itself though has never changed). I love having proper brows and arches.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 19/03/2025 18:00

Maybelline tattoo brows, it’s like a gel you brush on and then peel off only lasts a few days though but it’s quick and cheap!

thaigirl · 19/03/2025 18:09

I stopped with brow tattooing, it fades and looks crap. Now once a week I use Just For Men beard dye and it’s a game changer. I can do nothing to be brows and look fine for the week.
If I’m wearing makeup and want definition I highly recommend Refy brow pencil, it’s easy to use and gives amazing results.
