Can anyone help my DD identify these trousers…

We live in a Russell Group university city and in the last year or so, lots of the (posh) students have been wearing a certain kind of (what looks like) white, wide leg linen type trousers with a blue woven panel down each side. They seem to be unisex, from the boys it looks like they also do shorts, and it’s definitely the posher students wearing them. I can’t find them anywhere and have no idea what brand they are, but teenage DD declares they’re her ideal trousers.

Some of these kids will definitely be MNers’ children (massive over generalisation but these are Home Counties, wealthy, uni students also wearing Lacoste bags (girls) and consciously dressed down posh sliders and socks (boys)). If you know this look and know some posh-ish students you will know exactly the trousers I mean!!!

Ive googled until I’m blue in the face and just can’t find them.

I think DD would die of embarrassment if I went up to one of said students in town and just asked them 🤣…

I knew it would be Toms Trunks!

lots on Vinted.

They are £30 for an item that's £38 new! I'm tempted to get some as pyjamas but I'd rather buy new!

Pyjamas daily fashion now? They look very comfortable.

I said on an another thread about trousers the other day that pj style trousers were in and everyone was laughing at the pj style trousers on that thread. But I stand by it 😁

Those trousers look just like the roller towels from 1970s school toilets.

I was just going to post to wonder if they'd bought the going out of business stock of a tea towel seller 😁

I've never seen anyone wearing them

I work at an outdoorsy FE college (agriculture, animal care, brickies) - the equine studies students all wear them when not in jodhpurs. I knew half way through reading the OP it would be these!

Do they team them with Schoffels?

Bimblebombzle · 09/03/2025 09:02

I'm 44, can I wear them? 😆 they remind me of the thai fold over trousers that were a thing in the 90s. Quite like a not-too-boring linen trouser.

My child has them and yes is in a well
Known uni town so can agree!
We are not home countries though!
They are very robust and easy to wash etc.
