It was the BEST THING I ever did!

Cost about 6k in 2021, tummy tuck and lipo. They removed 5lb of excess skin, and since then I've lost about four stone.

I used to be an 18, today I wore size 10 jeans and felt fabulous.

I'm so glad every single day that I did it. The recovery was a little slow because I got an infection in the wound, but I'd still do it again in a heartbeat.

Iv heard so many mixed reviews on pain n recovery. Also a-lot of people are left with dog ears n need revisions. But honestly i just feel like a shell of my self i cant wear what i want to wear or feel confident ever constantly tucking my apron in my pants

It's unusual for them to perform surgery before your weightloss. If you had 4st to lose did they not suggest you lose it first?

I just can't afford that. And I need my breasts lifting too.

If it were 6k like someone above said then maybe!

Not had one, but want one. Have been looking at Newman Clinic in Lithuania after seeing someone's results on Instagram.

ICanTellYouMissMe · 25/02/2025 21:40

I'm in Scotland, had it done at a private place in Stirling. Which I now can't remember the name of!

Had op on Friday morning, woke up Friday night, uncomfortable but they were good with meds. Getting up to pee with all of my layers of muscle sliced was interesting, but you soon learn to use other muscles to work around it.

First few nights I slept on the sofa as you can't lie down, and felt pretty sore and grim. Forced myself to walk about for a few minutes every hour, which helped a little with constipation from the codeine.

I started back to working from home on the Monday which was INSANITY looking back but 🤷‍♀️

Infection lasted about 8 weeks but the private aftercare is fantastic, and they went to lengths to find the right things to help kickstart the healing.

I've been following them for about 3 years.

I'd really love to go but am too scared to go alone.

ICanTellYouMissMe · 25/02/2025 21:45

@Piffyca I lost about two stone first, so actually maybe more like three afterwards now I think about it.

The one biggest change is that...I think during the recovery process I had little appetite and it's never really returned. My stomach shrank maybe?

So it's actually been really easy to keep my weight where I want it, although I would say it's not very healthy.

Honestly would NEVER do this. Travelling home would be horrific. And what about aftercare? I honestly think I could easily have died of my infection if I'd had to rely on the NHS.

All my aftercare - three appointments a week for 8 weeks - plus the nurse phoned me most days to see how I was feeling (in case of sepsis) - was all free.

NewYearNewDietAgain · 25/02/2025 21:51

Best thing I ever did! Paid £12k for mine...I did rush into it and didn't shop around and would seem I paid more than I should have. Still happy with the results tho. Lost loads of weight beforehand and more since.

The pain wasn't too bad....just keep ontop of the doses and you'll be fine. Worst bit was trying to wrestle the support clothing when I needed a pee and sleeping sitting almost upright with a pillow under the knees!

I had the tummy tuck and lipo (for contouring) as well as a torn stomach muscle fixed. The itching from the lipo was the worst. I slept with a coat hanger for a week to itch the bits I couldn't turn to reach!

You'll definitely need someone with you the first week but I was home alone from day 4 which was tough.

I already had a gastric sleeve abroad.

Travelling home was fine. And the flight was twice as long! I'd have my gallbladder out too.

name1234noidea · 25/02/2025 21:57

Is the recovery similar to a c section or much worse?

ICanTellYouMissMe · 25/02/2025 22:02

Dunno @name1234noidea as I never had a c section! Maybe someone else will know?

I think it must be fairly similar? For me, I had a 'quilting' procedure which meant stitching tight every layer of my abdominal muscles, so there was a LOT of tightness for quite a long time.

I actually still feel it pull a little in the morning when I go upstairs, and that's almost four years later.

Not sure how it compares to a c section in that regard really.

spoodlesee · 25/02/2025 22:06

what is the scarring like?

ICanTellYouMissMe · 26/02/2025 18:44

My scar goes right round each hip and onto my back, but it's very very low. You can sometimes see it right on my hips if I wear a high cut bikini but I honestly don't care.

HolySchmokes · 26/02/2025 19:12

Well well well worth it. Had mine 8 years ago.

HolySchmokes · 26/02/2025 19:14

The recovery was as painful as my c section. I woke up in recovery in pain. But managed on paracetamol and ibuprofen once discharged from hospital.
scar is hip to hip but doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
