Pain was a lot worse than a c-section. You have to walk bent over for nearly 4 weeks which made it difficult to cook etc
During the recovery there were definitely times when I'd wished I not had it done.
Glad I did now though.
I didn't get an infection. I didn't have much weight to lose but had a muscle repair at the same time.

Is the recovery similar to a c section or much worse?

It would depend on what type of tummy tuck you have. I 'just' had the basic tuck where I was cut hip to hip. That was similar to abc-section. Others go hip to hip and up to the belly button, others involve a cut under the bust too. It really depends on how much loose skin there it.

So the tuck I had was similar to a c-section (I had 3 of those!) but the lypo made it worse due the fact that they were rummaging around under the skin! That was sore! And the bruising was......extensive and colourful! Just keep ontop of the painkillers and it's it too bad.

I had one in 2020 and paid 8k.

Don't go abroad and don't go through a company. You need to research your actual surgeon and then approach them / their secretary in their clinic. If you're in the South East then shout me as my surgeon is one of the top ones in the UK

I'd share a before and after photo but it's quite frankly terrifying! I'm now 9 and a half stone and have a very flat stomach.

IseeBrigadoon · 27/02/2025 21:20

I had mine in about 2008. Had some lipo to my hips/back- that was honestly the most painful part and then walking with a hunch for about 6 weeks as you can’t straighten properly. But I would do it all over again, changed my life.

It did but only for the time I couldn’t straighten, after about 6 weeks when I could drive and get about and also get back to exercising, it all settled. It wasn’t an easy 6 weeks don’t get me wrong, but nothing unbearable. Xx

If you had muscle repair, how long did it take for the stiffness to completely go? I’m just over 90 days post-op and my muscle repair (6cm gap) is still really stiff, especially if I’ve been sat for a while and need to stand up again. I can tell it’s getting minimally better every day, but the progress is so slow (snail’s pace) and I’d like to know when the end might be in sight. Would be very helpful to hear how long it lasted for others.
