I think my slippers cost around £40 (sheepskin ones); they last for years so I think it's justified.

Would you spend £50 on shoes that you wear outside the house?

probably would spend £50 on shoes, yes

but I would then expect many years wear out of them...

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 08/05/2008 16:27

oh dear is it a rumaging store?

such things confuse me mightily

The ones you linked to first, the Davos ones are £24.71 on www.footshopping.com, click the UK flagand then put the word "davos" in the search box.

I got 6 pairs of Birkenstocks off this website (its in Germany) last year, delivered free (cos I spent £70 -ish). They are half (and sometimes a quarter in the sale) of UK Prices.

I heart that site and recommend it to everyone I come across - I have no idea why anyone buys Birkies in this country

Came in 3 days last time - I have an eye on some pink ones that are currently £17.32 in the sale

HTH

Fillyjonk · 08/05/2008 16:31

ok but if i go, is there any chance they will be still there?

i do not know about such things

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 08/05/2008 16:32

oh dear, i do think £25 is not too bad for slippers IF they last.

I have been through 3 pairs of slippers in last year somehow, incl clarks

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 08/05/2008 16:33

is this bolocks btw?

OP posts:
Lauriefairycake · 08/05/2008 16:34

I haven't actually managed to wear a pair of Birkies out yet - and I think they replace the sole free of charge if you do

Right, I must go and get a life instead of waxing evangelically about Birkenstocks to peeps on the internet

Fillyjonk · 08/05/2008 16:34

(am sorry for mispelling, it hurt my eyes too)

OP posts:
TooTicky · 08/05/2008 16:35

You don't need slippers now, surely?

Fillyjonk · 08/05/2008 16:36

i always need slippers

they make me feel happy

nothing worse than cold toes
