New trainers - Sambas, Gazelles, Spezials?

I'm looking for a new pair of trainers and am leaning towards Sambas, but I realise they're everywhere atm and possibly will be on the decline fashion wise soon?

I also heard that they're quite narrow and Gazelles/Spezials are a bit wider? I do love all the different colourways and tempted for something bright, but am on the fence as a more classic colour will go with more?!

Any recommendations for anything similar welcome! Mainly to wear with wide legged trousers/jeans/dungarees. Thanks!

@Floradon - when it comes to casual clothes- yes I do think teens are a good barometer of fashion trends. This is because it’s really unusual for teens to have clothes that are more than 2 years old (what with the only just stopping growing, or even still growing). Unlike women 20 or older, they are approaching each season with a blank slate, not adding a few pieces into an existing wardrobe.

As such they are surrounded by peers wearing “new”, not just what they’ve owned for 5 years. They are therefore more exposed to what’s in current fashion trends and have a better idea from the new/current options, what’s popular.

My friendship groups won’t have everyone wearing trainers bought this year, many are wearing trainers they’ve bought several years ago. (Many no longer available to buy.)

But as teens as a group tend to not do formal or smart clothes, this eye for trends pretty much only works for casual fashion.

My Nike Dunks are the most comfy I have ever. Lots of colours. Wore them walking miles round New York at Xmas and my feet were fine.

Adidas Campus or Onitsuka tigers Mexico 66

The campus comes upto size 5 in the kids range so you can save a bit of money than buying them in the adults.

Fair enough, but you do see it a lot on the SandB threads and I think it’s a bit strange. ‘My teenager says…’

Like, why is the poster giving her child’s opinion rather than her own? Confused

Some posters might actually be interested in that opinion.

I think gazelles are quite narrow. I’ve recently bought the adidas campus. They do lots of colours like gazelles Ive got the bright pink ones, they have a bit more of a platform sole, but not as platform as adidas bold. I find them comfier than gazelles because of the sole.

I recently bought some Campus too. Even managed to buy Juniors, so saved £20. I bought dark green with pink stripes!

I have gazelles but only wear them in the summer on a dry day because they're my favourites and I don't want to ruin them

I have two pairs of spezials - they are the most comfortable trainers I have ever worn - no wearing in - I love them
Didn't need to size up at all as PPs have suggested

I’m a size 4 so always check the junior sizes first 😀 i might have to look at those colours. I’ve been trying to get the mint green with pink stipe gazelles but can never seem to get them 🙈.

I got gazelles and campus for Christmas and am waiting for a better weather to wear them as I don’t want to spoilt them 😂 my husband wears his all the time regardless of weather and doesn’t understand my reluctancy 🙈😂

I like Mexico 66s as they're super comfortable, but they're quite thin. Nice in the summer. Useless in winter and wet spring.

I've just bought a pair of Alohas: tb 490s

They haven't arrived yet, will update when they do if anyone is interested.

Whether you’re into bright tints or muted hues, consider extending your collection with shoes you can mix & match without rules.

On a slightly different note if anyone is looking for a pair of plain white fashion trainers. Adidas Bravada are the most comfiest fashion trainer I have ever worn. They are canvas as opposed to leather (adidas nizzas are a similar leather version - slightly less comfortable in my opinion ) and they are currently on offer in very. Reduced from £60 to £39 😀
