Aging is rubbish and I hate these lines on my face, would like to go for botox or fillers, but not sure what?
Any ideas what I need, prices and how often top ups?

That's a great result OP!

Shubbypubby · 12/02/2025 20:36

That looks amazing!

And so many patronising responses about self acceptance. I'm sure the OP realises that's an option 🙄

Great results.

Did you get lip filler, too?

I can't believe people are still recommending fillers after all the publicity regarding them staying in the body and migrating.

To me your skin looks dry. Something plumping and moisuring would work. Tretinoin may be worth a go.

Have fillers or don't. But moisturizer and tret will NOT work on this area. Fillers or a facelift would be your choices if you want to regain a youthful lower face op.

A lip flip, but found it so uncomfortable that it was done as quickly as possible !!

That's a great improvement on your lines. I would say that you could have a little bit more filler next time but it's good that you were conservative with the first lot.

I’ve had treatment at Celeste Medical Clinic in Cork, and I went for fillers rather than Botox for my lower face. They explained that Botox is best for dynamic lines caused by muscle movement, like around the forehead or jaw if you grind your teeth. For the lines around the mouth and chin like in your photo, fillers are more effective because they add volume and smooth out folds.
During my session, they used dermal fillers in small, precise amounts to lift and support the skin, focusing on the marionette lines and chin area. The procedure was done with care, and the results were visible immediately. The cons are minor swelling or bruising for a few days, but nothing serious. The pros are natural-looking volume, immediate improvement, and subtle reshaping without surgery. From my experience, if your concern is lines and sagging around the mouth/chin, fillers are the way to go. Botox wouldn’t give the fullness you need there it’s more for relaxing muscles than adding volume.

I really don’t understand why those who aren’t bothered about their appearance or who disagree with aesthetic treatments feel compelled to bang their drum on threads like these. It always happens. The OP isn’t asking for their opinions and isn’t likely to suddenly be happy with the way she looks because a random with a different mindset tells her to just ‘live with it’. If you are content to not care how you look then good for you. Try to accept that some of us may feel differently and really have no interest in hearing your opinions.
