In praise on knee length socks

Hi,
I was chilly in the office the other day and rather than buying tights in my lunch break to layer up under my trousers, I ended up buying knee length black socks (falke, so quite posh ones).

What a revelation! So soft, warm and comfy, but without the faff of tights, and no waistband digging into my recently fattened peri middle. I loathe tights.

Does anyone else wear knee length socks? Is it ever possible to wear them with a skirt/dress without looking like a dodgy school girl fetishist..?

There’s no need to be a dick. Can you really not work out what was meant? Surely nobody’s that dim.

Tights under trousers

I don't wear trousers but those of you have never heard of tights under trousers and just discovered knee socks- what were you wearing? Ankle socks? No socks? Ankle socks or no socks in winter seems far madder than tights.

Long johns are tights without feet.

I've got falke merino knee highs too! They don't get a lot of wear, but when they're needed, they're perfect!

Long johns are not tights without feet, they are much less stretchy, so they don't try and creep down at the gusset.

Not worn knee socks since primary school!
But at 5 ft 2 I find most ankle socks reach mid calf on me anyway.

I love knee length socks under winter trousers, but on occasion have resorted to buying from the back-to-school section.

I love knee high socks.
I've got bigger feet and often have to buy men's from Decathlon.

Most women's stop at size 8, which is ok, but I have to over stretch and If they've got a heel etc they don't fit quite right.
If anyone has an recs for uk9 womens knee highs, well, thanks. 😁
