Hair gets frizzy and like rat tails when I go out in the wind and rain
What shampoo should I use
Do I need a moisture shampoo ?
My hair is salt and pepper and I'm 53 if that helps

I have the same problem and not yet found the answer! Tried lots of things suggested Colour Wow Dreamcoat was a letdown

LennyBalls · 02/12/2024 17:50

Have you tried a keratin blow dry? Game changer. Sometimes known as Brazilian blow dry.

StarDolphins · 02/12/2024 17:56

I only have to boil a kettle 3 rooms away & I look like an electrocuted shredded wheat😭 I just wear a hat but following with interest.

I expect this is why our great granny's wore plastic rain bonnets

LostittoBostik · 02/12/2024 18:17

I have curly hair and it's always been like this but in my forties it's really gone up a level

Frauhubert · 02/12/2024 19:59

I just put a headscarf in the rain and wind, channel my inner babushka 🪆

SwedishEdith · 02/12/2024 20:04

Watching for the solution.

Ginpasta · 02/12/2024 20:08

Colour wow dream coat along with colour wow xl mousse works amazingly and I have very frizzy hair, only issue I would say it makes my hair go greasy after 2 days

socks1107 · 02/12/2024 21:03

I use a keratin oil every time I wash my hair ( daily) and never ever buy a coat without a hood!

Jellykat · 02/12/2024 21:15

Watching here too.. I've been working my way through various shampoos and conditioners for years, no answer so far.. the nearest thing to help ive found is John Friedas 'Frizz ease' spray (but it does make me hair a bit crispy, looks better tho!)

Beamur · 02/12/2024 21:17

Embrace a bit of waviness..
Hair creme is good for frizz. I use a John Frieda one.

stargazerlil · 02/12/2024 21:20

So did mine, I just bought clippers and sheared it off for the winter, feels brilliant.

FennelFan · 02/12/2024 21:21

Keratin blow dry. Game changer.

StanfreyPock · 02/12/2024 21:24

My slightly wavy hair is great in less than 50% humidity but anything above that it gets absolutely horrible - on holiday in South India in 90+% humidity it took on the look and feel of a brillo pad (also silver grey!). Nothing would help even the local coconut oil that everyone used, so I gave up and just scraped it back and covered with a scarf when I could bear to in the heat.

In the UK it's never quite that bad but yes, hats and hoods are essential in the rain...

whatisforteamum · 02/12/2024 21:30

Star dolphin I'm the same.
🤣🤣🤣

Rina66 · 03/12/2024 04:34

I use the John Frieda Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Intense Hold Hairspray - it really does work, I just mist over the top of my hair once I've styled it and it really stops it frizzing.

Boots do a smaller handbag size for £2.50 so you can see if it suits your hair without spending a fortune.

MichaelandKirk · 03/12/2024 04:36

Not 100% but a coat with a big hood plus cordless hair straighteners. Makes a difference if you have 5 mins to repair yourself in the bathroom!

Missionimprobable · 03/12/2024 06:15

Hairspray works for me.
I use a serum & Wow dreamcoat on wet hair, then Wow Pop & Lock finishing serum when my hair is dry.
If I were to leave the house with just these products on my hair, it would explode into a frizzy mess.
So I "seal" it with hairspray, works for me

GettingStuffed · 03/12/2024 09:39

I put my hair into a ponytail when I remember.
A leave in conditioner also helps
