Cult Beauty advent calendar 2024

Jellycats4life · 01/12/2024 10:58

Have searched for a thread but haven’t found one. Anyone interested? 🎅

I had the CB calendar in 2022 and enjoyed it. Defected to Liberty last year and now back to CB. I bought the fragrance variant.

Maybe I'll give it a go. I've got long hair so I probably should use hair oil and take better care of it. It's just so fine I'm always worried about weighing it down and getting the dreaded lanky hair effect. There's a fine line between shiny and greasy looking unfortunately!

Your lucky daughter is going to have the most beautiful hair!

Jellycats4life · 12/12/2024 10:24

She has gorgeous thick hair. In fact I remember my own hair being as thick as hers, but I think I’ve been losing so much hair with perimenopause that my hair thickness now falls into the “average” category. I keep getting waves of paranoia that I’m going bald 😩

I've always wished for thick, full hair! Mine is fine and can be swishy, but it always struggles to hold a curl and is impossible to get volume into.

I hear you on feeling like you're going bald! Every time I put the hoover round I get serious anxiety at the amount of hair that gets picked up!!

My day 13:

It's a two products day! It's an eye make up theme with a liner (another one) and a small eyeshadow palette:

PATRICK TA Major Dimension Precision Gel Liner (£24) - I got black, did everyone else?

https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/patrick-ta-major-dimension-precision-gel-liner/13321782/?affil=thggpsad&switchcurrency=GBP&shippingcountry=GB&variation=13321783&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA0--6BhCBARIsADYqyL96j4cZ6gD0EJA4LNjCWliqJAesieMIiZbEq_vWn2hV8BNnP7wo2wQaAtGTEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Natasha Denona Love Palette (looks like we got an even mini-er version than the mini that's for sale which has 2 more colours and is £24)

https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/natasha-denona-mini-love-palette/12742561/?srsltid=AfmBOop9dGujWNSijWBvuOu-8nmWbK9mLNGYUzIMilXyH9nDwMRgoH86

I always love a double drawer day. These seem to be the days that the two versions of the AC differ, so I wonder what you scent-ers got today.

It's another eye liner, but it's not a liquid liner like before which is nice. Looking forward to having a play with the eyeshadow, although I'm not sure I can ever pull off pink eyeshadow. Feel like I'm always trying to get rid of the redness around my eyes (with 3 young kids sleep is still sub-optimal)!

Same today! I just don’t know when these fragrance products are going to appear. As much as I love a double drawer day I can’t see myself using these (due to aforementioned eye issues 😅).

OP posts:
ConradKnightSocks · 14/12/2024 08:39

Well, today saw the appearance of a familiar friend!

Day 14:

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream 15ml (£74!!!)

Well, it's not a beauty advent calendar without it!

Jellycats4life · 14/12/2024 10:49

Haha, I genuinely couldn’t remember whether this product was included in the calendar. Silly me, it had to be!

It’s a nice product but this must be my 4th bottle in an advent calendar or beauty box. Can’t imagine why anyone would buy it full price when the brand give away so much 😄

OP posts:
NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 14/12/2024 11:49

I’d already taken mine out ages ago as I’d needed a night cream… replaced it with some minis I had in a GWP… so a small l’occitaine body cream and a small Ouai scalp and body scrub!

I remember being much more impressed with my Cult advent last year, I can’t say I’m loving it this year.

I’ve used the Paula’s Choicr retinol a couple of times, and even though I’ve used Tretinoin on and off for years, this has really got to my skin! I’m then having to use the Kramer calming serum to settle it… maybe that’s why they put both in together!

But I think my favourite things so far have been the things I’ve stuck in myself!

ConradKnightSocks · 15/12/2024 10:25

Day 15:

Double drawer! I got:

Elemis Pro-Collagen Energising Marine Cleanser 30ml (£13 - full size is 150ml and £48)

Cult Beauty Anti-Drip Wrist Bands x 2 (£6)

Pleased with the cleanser as love the Elemis Marine range. Not sure about these arm cuffs?! Maybe they're a trendy new thing that has passed me by? Can't see myself using them really.

We've just moved house and I was unpacking yesterday and I unearthed last year's Augustinus Bader from the Liberty ac! So it was a double AB day for me yesterday!! I'll use it because I need a face cream but I've never been blown away by it like some people. Definitely don't think it's worth the price tag!

@NorthFaceofthelaundrypile I agree there's not been much wow factor so far. Maybe they're saving it all for nearer the end. I found that last time I had the Cult Beauty ac a lot of the products were 'growers not show-ers' so to speak! Not very wow but they grew on me & I ended up happily using them all up.

Wonder if the scent people were saved from the arm cuffs and got a lovely fragrance instead!

Jellycats4life · 15/12/2024 10:53

Haha, no, I got the same drawer and I was waiting for these wrist bands. I haven’t yet passed anything onto DD but I’d actually promised her these ages ago. We were in Boots and she saw some (she’s very sensory and hates water running down her arms when she washes her face) and was going to buy them. I said save your pocket money, I know I have these in my advent calendar!

Cant believe we’re on day 15 already. Today’s was a big drawer and so is tomorrow 😄 I can see 18 looks like a multi product drawer. There’s a big ticket skincare product yet to come - it was the reason I decided to opt for this calendar - and of course the fragrances when they eventually decide to show up…

OP posts:
ConradKnightSocks · 15/12/2024 11:15

At least the arm cuffs will go to a good home! You're lucky to be able to pass on some of the things you won't use, unfortunately my daughter is only 3 so I'm not there yet!

You're right - looks like some bigger drawers ahead! Hopefully the best is to come! Looking forward to hearing about these fragrances when they make an appearance too!

Jellycats4life · 16/12/2024 08:30

A quadruple drawer today, and finally one of the fragrances.

I have Sol de Janeiro - Rio Radiance 90ml
L’Occitane almond body lotion 20ml
Ouai scalp & body scrub 30g
Ouai - Melrose Place EDP sample

ConradKnightSocks · 16/12/2024 08:47

Hurray!

My calendar was obviously different, I got:

L’Occitane Almond Body Lotion 20ml
Ouai Scalp & Body Scrub 30g

AND

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

So only a triple drawer for me, but feel very happy about it! All things I will use and have wanted/needed.

How's the fragrance?

Jellycats4life · 16/12/2024 08:59

These body sprays are all the rage with teens so I’d earmarked this for DD before I’d even bought the calendar. Just have to decide whether to give it to her for Christmas or give it to her now 😄

ConradKnightSocks · 17/12/2024 09:48

Day 17:

Sunday Riley C.E.O vitamin c brightening serum 15ml (£36)

Happy with this! Really like Sunday Riley products and have bought a few off the back of them being in advent calendars. Wish it was full size, I've definitely had a full size one in an advent calendar before. I really like the CEO cream too and remember a full size was in drawer one of Cult Beauty one year.

Another good day! ☺️

Jellycats4life · 17/12/2024 12:00

Yes, this was drawer no 1 in 2022, full size. It’s a good product!

OP posts:
NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 17/12/2024 12:41

I started using SR’s Good Genes after getting it last year, so looking forward to trying this.

ConradKnightSocks · 18/12/2024 09:41

Day 18 (non-scent version):

MZ Skin Hydra-Lift Golden Facial Treatment Mask (£25!)
Dr AJ Sturnham Decree SOS Revitalising Mask Single (£20)
BIOEFFECT EGF Serum 15ml (£135!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Ok, woah! How on earth is that tiny bottle worth £135?! That is absolutely crazy! The results sound impressive, so I've got high expectations of looking 19 again!! 😅

Couple of spendy face masks too, looking forward to trying them out!

Cult Beauty advent calendar 2024
Jellycats4life · 18/12/2024 10:28

Same here. I first tried the Bioeffect serum about seven years ago and really like it. So expensive though!

This was the product that made me pull the trigger on this calendar actually. Once I’d discounted all the calendars with red lipsticks (I love getting lip products in calendars, but I find red unwearable so it’s the ultimate drawer of doom for me!) I then started looking at which calendars had big ticket skincare, bonus points for big ticket skincare I already knew and loved.

OP posts:
ConradKnightSocks · 18/12/2024 10:42

Such a great, logical and economical way of choosing a calendar. They can feel like such a huge extravagance that if you can approach it like that, it then feels much more justifiable.

Very excited to try this serum then! Although almost don't want to try it in case it's really great and I love it, but then can't afford to buy again! 😅

I'm guessing you'd use it at night time, so that it can work its magic (and then it lasts longer)? Or is it a twice a day type of thing to get the best results?

Jellycats4life · 18/12/2024 21:52

I think you can use it twice a day, but at £135 I prefer to be less gung ho and save it for night. I get patches of sore flaky skin around my eyes and this usually clears it up - it is safe to pat around the eyes as well.

Yeah, it does help me justify a calendar if I can tell myself there are products inside I would choose to buy - a calendar just makes it much better value!

OP posts:
ConradKnightSocks · 19/12/2024 10:59

Morning! Day 19 (non-scent version):

Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder Travel Size 2g (£22).

Not sure about this one personally. I never use powder because my skin isn't oily and I don't want the matte look. I have the opposite problem of being dry and worry about powder settling in creases, or making my skin look flaky.

This is Cult Beauty though, so this is probably a super mega powder that does none of those things! I've had an Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder from a calendar before and that was lovely.

Wee bit deflated in having such a small product as the only thing in the drawer.

ConradKnightSocks · 19/12/2024 11:00

Forgot photo!

Jellycats4life · 19/12/2024 11:01

I always use a setting powder so I’m happy with this. Pot is useful to refill for travel as well, so it’s a thumbs up for me. Agree it does feel like a small drawer once you start getting used to three or four items a day 😄

ConradKnightSocks · 20/12/2024 10:56

Morning all! Nearing the end now! Day 20:

BYOMA Moisturising Rich Cream 50ml (£14.99)

Happy to get a full-sized product at last! I like this brand and will use this up. Not the most flashy brand, but this will do me just as well as Augustinus Bader.

How quickly has this month gone?!

Happy to have a nice basic skincare staple. One of the things I love about ACs is finishing up a skincare product and then going “shopping” in my calendar stash for a new one 😄

Bearing in mind I forgot about the majority of what this calendar contains ages ago, I actually don’t know what is still to come - apart from a 10ml bottle of fragrance. So I’m excited to see what’s left. The next two drawers are on the larger side too (although this might be a red herring).

I hope no one who has the Liberty calendar is lurking here because I looked online and can see that the Xmas day drawer is just as underwhelming as last year’s 😬
