Travel outfit when flying from cold to hot weather

Please help me with this. Overnight 12 hour flight from miserable December weather to hot and sunny on arrival. What's a good outfit choice?

I have done this sort of flight multiple times. I usually travel in jeans or comfortable trousers, then layer up - vest, t-shirt, cardigan and some sort of shawl/scarf for additional warmth and on plane. Coat. I wear trainers and socks (boots are a pain although I would prefer them) and carry a pair of sandals in my luggage. On arrival, swap to sandals (or trainers without socks - depends on time - often these long flights land in the early morning) and exit plane wearing trousers/jeans and t-shirt or vest-top. Carry coat and job done.

When flying between Asia and London I just wore leggings, t-shirt and cosy jumpers, and a soft shawl type thing for extra warmth if needed. Trainers and socks, flip flops in carry on.

I've ordered a dress from Uniqlo which is similar to try. Thanks for all your help
