I tried it on in-store and it's so comfy, soft and warm.

Not too sure though. What does everyone think?

It looks like a caramac bar. Those puffy coats are the least stylish thing ever.

spanglypen · 21/11/2024 20:36

In black it's ok. But there's something weird about it that I can't put my finger on... it's like it's a mish mash of other coats somehow. But it's not directional enough to be cool neither is it practical enough to be useful. Weird one.

Preppingdonkey · 22/11/2024 03:45

I really like it the style and length but unsure of the colour.

MagneticSquirrel · 22/11/2024 06:03

It’s a standard puffer jacket. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it either. Loads of people wear short puffers, often nicer than a “parker” style which can be more shapeless. Not sure about the brown colour.

wouldn’t spend £89 though

ForGreyKoala · 22/11/2024 07:57

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I like it. What's with all these comments about it being too short? Puffer jackets generally are around that length, well they are where I live..Confused

@Ginkypig I know we shouldn't care what others think, but I have been known to really regret purchases.

I don't want to be walking round with people thinking "wtf is she wearing".

Why would anyone think that though? There's nothing at all out of the ordinary about it. It's a perfectly nice puffa jacket. Absolutely crazy not to buy it if you like it based on a few MN opinions. Everyone has different taste. You'd probably hate the jackets of choice of the people on here saying it's horrible.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 22/11/2024 14:13

I think the black is alright but not the camel coloured one

CookieMonster28 · 22/11/2024 14:38

I like it, on trend...similar to what all the other high st shops have in at the moment.
Not sure why MN think M&S isn't stylish...I think they've massively upped their game and lots of influencers on Instagram shop there...and me too in my early 30s!

showersandflowers · 22/11/2024 14:44

I read the title a jack potato and was very excited Confused

I like it but it's short.

PickAChew · 22/11/2024 14:47

It's so wide and short. You'd have warm arms nd a chilly belly.

Dawevi · 22/11/2024 19:02

GettingStuffed · 21/11/2024 12:56

Boring as what it looks like.

However M&S do not use feather or down that is taken from live ducks or geese.

I'm not sure that "they were killed first" is much of an improvement. It's still cruel.

MaryGreenhill · 22/11/2024 19:03

I love It OP 🤩

It’s just sooooo 2007…

I think it's more 1977 teenage boy fashion. The collar and the patch pockets particularly. I like the camel colour.

How? Birds that are raised for human consumption need to be plucked before eating. Unless you have vegetarian or vegan views how is it cruel? It's 100% better than the abhorrent practice of plucking down from live birds.

I'm going against the flow and think it looks OK for q casual day jacket. I'd already spotted it on their insta page a month ago and liked the way they styled it. Could also see it paired with wide legs. I did try it on instore too, I'm 5,5, slim and can confirm it did cover my bum and thought colour was lighter and quite liked it. Opting for a Barbour jacket instead though, when I can make my mind up.

how long is your torso?! 😆😆

Apileofballyhoo · 22/11/2024 19:30

I like it. The link opened on the black one for me and the other colour I wouldn't have looked at time before my DH gave me a present of a jacket that colour and I found those shades really suit my colouring. So I'd be tempted.

I don't get the hate, it's fairly nondescript with a nod towards volume. I like the shape. I do get wanting a longer coat for keeping out the cold though. I'd wear it either in slightly warmer weather or with warm trousers.

There is a 70s vibe to the brownish colour so it might be nice with cords, depends on the fabric.

BluebirdBoogie · 22/11/2024 19:45

Looks like the kind of thing your frumpy aunt would wear down the market.

Do please post a photo of yourself wearing what you term stylish. I'm pretty sure I could make some sort of unpleasant comment on it, doubtless it would be something I wouldn't be seen dead in.

Myattention · 22/11/2024 20:34

I saw it today I black and wished it came in navy.

tangerinetigers124 · 22/11/2024 20:47

I have this coat in black. Not sure why so many people are so negative about it.

It's lovely and warm and looks really stylish. I don't wear the collar up but looks great down. I did try the brown one on in store but the colour wasn't quite right. The black to me looks much more stylish.

I initially saw it being styled by a very gorgeous and trendy instagram influencer which was what prompted me to go into the shop and try it on.

🙄

LovelyDaaling · 22/11/2024 21:11

It's a regular cut which looks quite boxy and short. Not entirely practical if you are buying it for warmth. Quite a big gap around the bottom to let in the drafts. I imagine it would look dated in a year or two. Not a classic and the spice colour makes me think of bamboo emulsion paint.

LadyGabriella · 22/11/2024 21:12

Black is mandatory here.
