A few years ago a Bake Off contestant in her 60/70s was wearing a top that I have. So depressing how much better she looked in it than me.

She looked lovely - I just did not want the constant “was that not the dress that….”

Many people in their 60s/70s are very stylish. No need to be depressed. Even women in their 80s and beyond.
I saw Judi Dench on a chat show and she looked amazing in a very chic outfit.

I've got a couple of jumpers that I've seen being worn, it might have been Made In Chelsea.
Not tv, but I saw a photo of Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn once and one of them is wearing a scarf I bought from Peacocks years ago.

I saw my wedding dress on Outnumbered and a Next top I wore to death on Down to Earth years ago. A local news reporter had the same coat as me about twenty years ago but I think it was very popular that year as a good friend had it too as did my boss!

Oh yes, it has happened to me, but back in the 90s!
I had a leopard print shirt from Top Shop, saw "Bev" on Brookside wearing it one episode and never wore it again! I wouldn't mind but I'd only worn it a couple of times but it put me right off because I didn't hate the character, but I didn't see her as a doyen of style either!
Another top I had from Pilot ( remember them?) a pink stretchy one with a print of Hindu deities on it, very trendy at the time; saw a character on that tea-time soap set in Chester wearing it. I didn't mind but she was so young, like most of the cast, I felt a bit silly in it after that, so that was another one gone and I had really liked it.
Not bothered anymore, what I like in clothes has long changed and I'm not bothered about what's trendy anymore either, so even if the 90s come back, I was there the first time, so I'm too bloody old now!😉😆

When I was about 22, Pauline Fowler (about 50) had the same shirt as me. It definitely made me think my dress sense could be better.

Not for a long time, but someone from Corrie had a blouse I had (m&S) but in a different colourway. Another character also had our duvet cover.

And back in the day some things mil had bought me appeared on Emmerdale - who clearly shopped at C&A!

Many years ago Gail Tilsley from Corrie had the same dressing gown as me, I was a child well teenager so she must be quite petite.

It always killed me that the Royale Family had my ( pseudo-refined) MIL’s velour three piece suite.

Another Pauline Fowler one. For years in EastEnders a baggy beige M&S cardigan was her signature look. I lived in the same one when DC1 was at the milk stains on my shoulder stage.

It was not a good look for either of us.

Someone on Come Dine With Me wore the same dress as the one I wore to my son's christening. She was horribly snobby and I instantly went off it!

Various Eastenders actors have been spotted wearing clothing that my family members have got - M&S dressing gowns are quite common. At one point Max Branning had the same duvet set as us. It was most disconcerting seeing Max waking up in "my" bed.

About a fortnight later,I got a text,cilla in corrie had the same wallpaper (friend was not impressed!)

A character on Corrie wore a M&S blouse that I had, it went to the charity shop. There is a house with the same, expensive wall paper as ours. I doubt if they could afford it!

Laura Kuenssberg wore a whistles top I have on the 10 o'clock news. I was well chuffed.

And Vicky McClures character in Line of Duty wore a J Crew top I also own. It was so distinctive. Again, v happy!

Not wearing the exact coat, but years ago I had a light brown (taupe 😉) long North Face coat that I loved.
DD, then in her teens, used to call it my Carol Jackson coat (from Eastenders) and laugh..
I went right off it and eventually gave it to charity.

I saw Ruth langsford selling a jumper that looked just like one of my old favourite French connection ones once, dp never ceases to tease me about it! I was only 32 at the time

When I met DH he had the wallpaper as Rita on Coronation Street. Soon fixed that!

Liz Truss got a load of her dresses from the same place I bought my work dresses. That was a rough few weeks, let me tell you.
