@Garlicpest I have a full wardrobe of bags 🙈 I have some lovely ones that I’m not using enough at the moment because they’re not appropriate for my stage of life really, soft plays and carrying around a spare change of clothes, toy cars etc. so they’re safely stuffed looking down at me from the top of the wardrobe! They do however end up in a pile at the bottom of the stairs in our hallway and my husband is forever telling me off!

@Tarnishedbutton 😂I relate, I was definitely carrying a leaf and a bit of bark around yesterday. I have to say some of the most expensive bags have the plainest interiors, not lined but the same leather as the bag (I sort of expected a nice material lining, pockets etc.) but it means it’s actually really hardy and can withstand a leaking pack of wet wipes, crumbs from organix bars and muddy pebbles!

A big liner would be handy though, I change my bags around so often, it would be handy to move stuff around easily!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/11/2024 20:13

I’m a ragbag today. Just at home pottering in:

Grey joggers - New Look, about £25
Huge blue hoodie that DP was about to throw out. I think he’s had it since uni - Gap, probably cost about £10 25 years ago
Shearling Boston Birkenstocks - present
Big wool socks - present from my friend whose mum knitted them
No bra, M&S knickers, M&S cami top under my gorgeous hoodie
Glasses (usually wear contacts) with Calvin Klein frames and mega high prescription lenses, about £400 (😬)

Tinymrscollings · 13/11/2024 20:23

This is fun to read. And it’s made me realise that my spending on clothes is all over place. What I’m wearing today totals just under £500, add £50 if I’m going outside. In my defence I’m always cold and my house is freezing so I wear a lot of layers and invest in warm things. My whole summer wardrobe probably cost less than the jumper I’m wearing today!

From the feet up:

Amazon fake cloud sandals £6. Outside: Nike Killshots £20 Vinted
Jeans Zara via Vinted £5
Heat tech thermal top 19.99
Heat tech thermal leggings £19.99
Uniqlo White T-shirt 14.99
Navygrey Jumper £285
Plumo Sheepskin Gilet £110

out and about:

Wool Coat £10 British Heart Foundation
Scarf €20 from Monoprix

handbag is M and S via Vinted £12

Jewellery is fake diamond earrings from a Sainsburys card of 3 £6. Necklace inherited from MIL with a pendant added that was £50, another necklace with a fake pearl that is Other Stories via Vinted, about £10 I think.

faustina · 13/11/2024 20:43

For the going out part of my day:
Toast trousers - £145 (bought last month but earning their keep nicely
Navy cashmere jumper Uniqlo - £60? quite a few years old now
Off white suede Fitflop rally trainers in need of a good clean or a replacement £60 ish in sale a few years ago
Kate Sheridan midi tote - £80? About 4 years old
knickers Uniqlo, bra Gossard glossies £30?
New and lovely waxed cotton Doherty coat from Plumo on Ebay £190 - worth every penny!

Around £500 but only two things are recent purchases. I've been operating a one in one out policy and having much success on Vinted with my 'outs'

Tarkan · 13/11/2024 22:27

A bit more relaxed today.

Bonprix cargo jeans £35

Ann Summers bra/M&S undies £20ish (Btw I promise these aren't the same ones each day 🤣, treated myself to 3 new bras and two multipacks of the undies because I badly needed new stuff)

Football top from our local footy team. This was actually a gift from DH so I didn't pay for it but I know full price it's £57. He got a 10% discount by using my season ticket though but then he paid for printing on the back as it was a graduation gift for me last month so I don't actually know the full price.

White Converse low tops £60

Bonprix maroon "ski" coat. I don't think it's really for skiing but it is unbelievably warm to wear. Bought on sale a couple of years ago for £22 down from something like £75

Apple Watch (SE 2023 40mm with a light coloured strap and a Mickey Mouse face because I never had a Mickey watch as a kid) - Full cost £250 I think? I got it as part of my mobile contract though so I'm only paying £7 a month for it and it's not all paid off yet.

Vera Bradley crossbody bag - can't remember exact price now as I've had it for a couple of years but the closest style to it I can see online is £85 but currently half price. I think mine was on sale for £60ish but I'm not sure as I've had a few Vera Bradleys over the years. Thankfully they're cheaper now than when I had to pay postage from the US as that ended up costing a good couple of hundred after that.

Steppingintome · 14/11/2024 09:18

A bit of a thrown together day for sobbing round the house. Today I’m wearing

a hand drawn Aerosmith T-shirt from skwiggles £22
Ripped jamie jeans from vinted £8
hooded zip up from h&m a few years ago think it was about £15
slouchy socks a present from my mum
underwear set from M&S £38

Isitfridayyetsophie · 14/11/2024 10:55

@Britpopbaby is your damson madder the tote bag? I was eyeing up the leopard print one as it looks capacious and possibly washable?

Today- nursery run, meeting a friend for lunch and then baking:

Jeans- Zara, £40ish- 3 years old
khaite belt- £270 - 1 year old
knitted T-shirt/short sleeved jumper- M&S £20ish- 2 months old.
shoes- adidas Sambas £80- 1 year old.
bag- Loro Piana, it was about £1200 when I got it, 10 years old

I would say most of the stuff I’m wearing at the moment is 2021 onwards. Pre pandemic my wardrobe was mainly workwear, gym wear and skinny jeans. Then in the pandemic I lived in leggings. In 2021 I had my son and I spent a year dieting. I didn’t buy any non maternity clothes for 2 years so felt by the time I fit back into my old clothes, trends had changed, even things like t shirts seemed to be boxier, jeans looser etc. and I had no use for smart work clothes. So I happily went shopping! My bags will be mainly be from my pre baby life as I find it hard to justify buying them now because of £ (and I have so many!) but it doesn’t stop me wanting a new Toteme one…

henlake7 · 14/11/2024 11:10

@Antinori86 wow, a black sequinned caped bodysuit! Sounds very snazzy.

Cantonet · 14/11/2024 11:14

Wearing today:

525 Cashmere Green 1/2 Zip Jumper £60 via Tk Maxx.
Mango black straight cropped jeans £17 Vis Brand Alley.
Vionic black lace up boots. £55 from eBay.
Mango wool coat £140.
Autograph bag - eBay £35.

Approx £300.

I'm fascinated by the designer bag talk. I've never bought a designer bag as I'm too mucky. I like to be able to chuck mine on the floor. But you really do have the most fabulous collection.

Itsonlybridgetagain · 14/11/2024 11:16

I will caveat this by saying that I've just had a personal styling appointment and what I'm wearing have only just been bought - I expect to be wearing them for a few years

@Garlicpest I can promise you I don't live somewhere very interesting!!!! I actually found the Hobbs leather coat a week before I actually bought it - kicked myself not buying it, and when I went back it was still there!!!! It says medium, but it's actually pretty big on me and I'm size 16! This particular charity shop does have some very nice things occasionally (PDSA). I found a virtually new 100% wool Max Mara jacket in there back in the summer.
