Jeans were my mum's (she had loads of clothes when she died, they're Next jeans with a really poor seam down one leg, they sit incorrectly but they're comfy) £0

Long sleeve top cotton traders £14 on a sale I think
T shirt was charity shop, 1.50
Wool.jumper was chucked out by DH and I nicked it.
Coat, again charity shop £30
Long socks were pricey £15
Boots, ancient, bought in a sale £83 bargain
Random as always.

pleasebenice123 · 04/11/2024 08:46

£25 M&S Jeans
£10 Converse (second hand)
£15 Jacket (Vinted)
Shirt free (uniform)
so £50 total

Isitfridayyetsophie · 04/11/2024 08:46

H&M strap top- £7
Zara sweatshirt- £20
bra, pants & socks all M&S-£50
shoes- adidas x sporty and rich sambas, £140
Bag- Ferrgamo tote bag- £2,300
when I go out I’ll be in my frankie shop jacket- £250

Going to catch up on the rest of the thread with my coffee now!

visualfeast · 04/11/2024 09:03
  • cashmere sweater - £130
  • Uniqlo skirt - £35
  • tights - £8
  • underwear - £6
  • Uniqlo heattech top - £15
  • Camper boots (on sale) - £130
  • Coat (on sale) - £260
  • Bag (on sale) - £200

total: £784

its kind of crazy to add everything up! It is a huge amount to look at all together - but I’ve had the sweater for 2 years, coat for 3 years, bag was bought for me as a gift, and the boots are a recent replacement for some that have completely worn out after 5 years and I wear them most days - so I don’t feel like I’m spending outrageously. I tend to buy things I know will last and wear them for years (“fun” fashion I tend to buy secondhand on eBay for very little!)

TheMotherSide · 03/11/2024 19:30

Lots of people wearing shoes or boots but no coats ‐are you outdoors in a warmish place or indoor shoe-wearers?

I'm in my garden office. I wear my Uggs as much as possible.

mongoliandoll · 04/11/2024 14:31

I live in good quality activewear. It's pricey but incredibly durable. I wear each piece to death before I throw it out.

My absolute favourite pair of running tights, which I've had for many, many years were from Aldi for about £15. I honestly don't think they are any less good quality than my Sweaty Betty ones.

imastrangerheremyself · 04/11/2024 14:56

DieDreiHexen · 04/11/2024 07:57

Today I'm dressed for work in:

Monsoon merino seater £65
Boden Richmond trousers c.2014 £50ish
Seasalt socks from a multipack so about £5
Marks and Spencer pants and bra
Clark's brogues £65
Radley work bag £300

Too hot for a coat.

I am wearing Tiffany pearl earrings, which were a present so free 🙂

No idea what my engagement or wedding rings cost. Why would people know that?

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 04/11/2024 18:32

AnyDay (John Lewis) joggers with stripes down side, think approx £7 from eBay
Benetton sequin logo top £20-£30
navy with flecks Top Shop chunky jumper, £20-£30
Selected femme (or just Select) black leather bomber jacket £100 or so reduced in sale
faux leather Chelsea boots £30
Top Shop knickers no idea
Tu sporty bralette

Into the office tomorrow so smarter. Last day of not working today but had to run errands and go and park (the joys of the NCP app when I’ve just got used to Ringo for parking).

Interesting as this thread is making me think about clothes and cost per wear. My jumpers all tend to get a lot of wear and Uniqlo heat tech items plus thermal and wool socks.

Garlicpest · 04/11/2024 20:16

I'm in a baggy sweater dress that was £15 from everything5pounds.com and turned out to be a great buy (they aren't always). My socks were around £3.

I totted up to approx £400 on Saturday in a Nobody's Child dress, my new block-heeled ankle boots and a leather jacket with an Osprey handbag.

I'm wearing a collection of vintage (Ebay) gold rings that came to roughly £500 in total. I'm slowly getting fed up with this deliberately untidy look, but the whole point was that I'll be able to sell them with little loss when I fancy something different.

faustina · 04/11/2024 20:24

it is weirdly addictive isn't it!
Today I wore:
Uniqlo C cashmere big jumper, £89
Toast check trousers £165 but really earning their keep!
Spring Court plimsolls £60 about five years ago
When out, a huge boiled wool coat by Eileen Fisher BN via Vinted £60 last year (worth every penny)
Kate Sheridan midi tote £90 ish a few years ago
knickers Uniqlo
bra Gossard glossies £16 in sale

faustina · 04/11/2024 20:26

I wonder why they've hidden my post?? Forgot to tot up the total which is around £500 but some of the things are quite old!
