Hi All, I have looked and done the questions on line and the like but still dont know what are my colours! Can anybody help please or am I being really dim with those online sites.

Im quite pale, natural ash/light long blond hair, green eyes, blue to light green veins, prob a bit paler as I live overseas but wear factor 50 on face and arms, rest of me never sees the light of day (wear rash vests etc in pools, I do tan if not covered up).

Im in the UK for a few months and need some winter clothing, jumpers, trousers etc. I do tend to lean towards very bright clothes, mix of plain and patterned I dont shy away from colour at all.

Oh and I'm 58! Any suggestions please🤔

For fun I did the quiz linked earlier. Can confirm that if I wore the colours suggested I'd look like I had jaundice.

Put something cream near your face /around your neck, and then something white.

One of them will really brighten you up.

If it's cream, you are warm
If white, you are cool

Spring /autumn is warm.
Summer /winter is cold.

Then decide what depth of colours you can wear in cold or warm tones.
Autumn and winter are deeper colours than Spring and summer.

I do think this is a good basic test of undertone - I look terrible in white, but am ok in cream (still not fabulous - I don’t really suit very light or very dark colours). It’s a funny thing to get your head around - I look unpleasantly pink in white, which many people would say makes me cool - but my skin looks a much better colour in cream (more golden, more glowing). It’s quite nuanced I think, draping is the best way.

Indeed. How do " your colours" work given that so many women still get married in white from neck to toe?

They probably have to get fake tanned to look good.

Wedding dresses come in off white, ivory, cream etc so there is something for everyone - I can only do pure white as cream makes me look ill

Colours are important but so is style and fit (as well as hair and makeup) all of which can go a long way in mitigating wearing the wrong colours.

They probably have to get fake tanned to look good.

I've never worn fake tan. I can't begin to imagine a scenario where I'd ever think of wearing fake tan to make me "look good" or that fake tan looks good.

Well I am glad I am not the only one who was confused by the whole colour thing!

My jumpers have arrived and love all the colours esp the burnt orange (is that autumn?) but the blue is also lovely (is that summer?)

Orange is usually autumn. There are blues in every season, so it will depend on the tone (I’m autumn and can only really wear ‘blues’ that have a lot of green in them, but there are blues in the autumn palette).

I find it tricky as well

I was analysed years ago by CMB as a spring flowing into Summer.

My hair was light brown but grey now and my eyes are blue. My skin is fair and I don't tan well.

I think I look better in warmer shades but not peach or orange.

Not sure about my veins, I wear a lot of blue anyway

I had a style analysis (body shape and colours) done a few years ago by ‘Style by Suzie’ and was diagnosed as an autumn and a pear. If I wear these colours, (and the right shape clothing), I get compliments. I’m no supermodel either, but a post- menopausal, 50+ year old woman.
