Waterproof Chelsea Boots

Looking for something to wear with my mum uniform staples or jeans/leggings and jumpers for the winter? Fed up with wet feet!

Not keen on Doc Martins - don't feel I can pull them off.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I have some Ariat ones that were recommended on here, waterproof and super comfy

Lanx! Reed are smarter, Brockhall chunkier. I have the Edgworth for work (I am outdoors a lot!) So comfy!

Also try Bareback. I've got a pair of Quebec's which have seen me through 3 winters of dog walks and beating on shoots. Highly recommend.

I just wear paddock boots as 'normal people's boots. My kids wear jodhpur boots as winter shoes to school (though choice) as well though so perhaps we aren't typical 😂

But your Moretta/Brogini type of zip or lace up boot looks ok with most things and they are very practical too

Which paddock boots do you buy?

I got some Rydale ones that didn't even last 6 months. Gutted.

I think Ariat would be your best bet here. I have some Timberland Chelsea boots too, which are really good.

Hattysbackpack · 07/09/2024 21:51

I have Ariat Wexford and they're great.

John Lewis do a pair of water proof, wool lined Chelsea boots. I had last years version and they are so warm and comfortable and do keep my feet dry.

Blundstone Chelsea boots are the best

I’m taking your post to mean that you’re looking for boots for socialising rather than wellington substitutes.

Next have these. I’m assuming they’re waterproof because they’re Barbour.

John Lewis have plenty of Chelsea boots.

Mountain warehouse sell this for waterproofing leather boots.

You can buy unbranded dubbin for under a pound, doesn't need to be Barbour, just make sure you get the joins and seams

Mine usually only do two winters, they would do more if I got them reheeled I suspect. But I have a 'best' pair for everyday and then a rougher pair for outdoorsing so they get a second chance of life being the rough pair once they are too knackered to be seen in public! It's normally the stitching, and the leather crinkling, as well as the heels that makes me demote them, they are always still waterproof etc.

I forget the style name but the last two times I've had Moretta (Shires) black paddock boots with the zip up backs and pretend laces up the front. They work really well for me! The kids have just basic Shires leather jodhpur boots and to be honest I've had them in the past too for the same job, no complaints.

Thanks. They look lovely and not expensive. 😁

Those look gorgeous.
Also, Lanx mentioned above.

Next have some fur lined ankle wellies.
