...on Monday Susanna (GMB) wearing a very large-pussy-cat-bowed blouse with a powder blue jacket. It looked just like a 1980s Lady Di ensemble.
Please don't let this be coming back into 'fashion'!!

That's not a pussy bow. That's a tie neck.

Ah that's what Hawes & Curtis called it. The one the OP is on about does look more "frou frou" though

Ladymeade · 04/09/2024 22:54

Yep....😁

Probably looking for really life pussies! (And I mean cats)

Yep....😁

More Thatcher than Diana, I thought! And disgusting!

This is the lady in question. To be fair, I love that shade of blue.

I think the glasses look terrible!

DisabledDemon · 05/09/2024 03:46

Well, I certainly shan't be wearing them. I avoided them the first time round - they're not getting me on the rebound!

I hate those fussy sorts of clothes. I noticed in John Lewis the other day that there is a brand of clothes with dresses that are very puffy in the body and in the arms. There was a girl on the Great British Sewing Bee who wore clothes like that and I thought they looked awful.

I think those are the Sister Jane brand. Almost child-like, a bit creepy IMO.

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 05/09/2024 06:58

Honestly, forget 'trends'. If you don't like it, avoid it. If I was walking down the street I might think about someone's clothes, 'Wow, she looks stupid,' but never would I think 'Gosh! She's not dressed in this season's styles!'

I mean, I do sympathise that if it is a trend you dislike there will be leaner pickings in terms of clothes choices in the shops, but that's as far as it should bother you.

Floisme · 05/09/2024 08:13

Thank you for the advice but I think we're all aware it's not compulsory @AtomHeartMotherOfGod. Maybe we just enjoy talking about trends?

I hated them in the 89s but actually quite like them this time around, not worn suited and booted but, as a pp suggested, with jeans or combats or something similar, for a bit of a prim/scruffy vibe. Don't think I could ever make them work for me though - I can't even keep my shirts tucked in.

Honestly its so white and starchy I think she is only a few inches short of a regency cravat!!😆

Thinking I might try this with a coordinating cardigan and maybe one of those cardigan chains (channelling Emma pilsbury from glee!)

This advert has popped up as I read this thread.

She looks delighted to be returning to work!
