Is this nice enough for an Autumn wedding?.

Hi all, I have a wedding at the beginning of October and need a dress. I don't have a lot of money to spare so I can't spend an awful lot. I wondered about this dress?

Beautiful!

WhenWillWanksWildly · 21/08/2024 06:50

It looks like a lovely dress. Perfect for a wedding.

jenny38 · 21/08/2024 08:10

It's perfect, order it now before everyone else does!

SparkyBlue · 21/08/2024 08:14

That's beautiful and it's the type of dress you will wear again as it's not too formal so you can dress it down and wear it again rather than have it sit in your wardrobe.

Chickenvhotdog · 21/08/2024 08:20

I love that dress OP! Gorgeous colours, very elegant, perfect for an October wedding

Lovelysummerdays · 21/08/2024 08:33

I think it’s lovely. Fabric wise it’s made of viscose which I quite like. Tends to wear well, has a little weight to the fabric so skims rather than clings. There’s a lot of polyester out there which feels cheap and often looks cheap on, regardless of the, sometimes extortionate, price tag.

And, IME, doesn't crease nearly as much as many fabrics which is good for packing or travelling and sitting.

It's lovely for an Autumn wedding.

(I agree with @mothsandgoths - get a full length slip to go under it, it will look and feel nicer and prevent any potential clinging)

I second this. Viscose is way better than polyester in my opinion. It's lightweight but doesn't feel scratchy or plasticy. It's also beautiful OP, I love the colours.

I think it it lovely too, The fabric will be fine£50.00 is not dirt cheap for me 😀

TheYearOfSmallThings · 21/08/2024 09:12

I love it. No idea as to quality, but the style is perfect.

That is so true, I love the idea of wafting around in lovely linen on holiday but in reality I don’t iron stuff so love viscose.

Really pretty

I think it's lovely- elegant, pretty and Autumnal. The fabric probably isn't stellar at that price but the design is lovely.

Quite a few round here think £50 for a dress is quite a lot. I think it's pretty and suits a wedding - fascinator with it, perhaps, picking up one of the pattern colours?

lazybrownfox · 21/08/2024 10:57

A really lovely dress!

Quitelikeacatslife · 21/08/2024 11:15

Definitely perfect for the occasion, order it to try it on and see. But agree with PPs that vinted is brilliant for occasion wear. It is exactly what people sell. I'm going to a wedding next week and got a phase eight dress was £180 for £30. You can maybe then get an upgraded fabric or cut for your budget

Newposter180 · 21/08/2024 11:18

Love it! And that is maybe only the second time I’ve ever said that about a wedding outfit posted on MN 😂

LycheeFizz · 21/08/2024 11:22

Absolutely gorgeous.

If the fabric is not great then be sure to iron it well and wear a slip u set earth so it hangs well and glides.

InSpainTheRain · 21/08/2024 11:48

I think it looks perfect but can't you find something from what you have if money is tight? I have 2 "posh" dresses and wear one of those otherwise it's too expensive and also wasteful (latter is personal opinion of course).

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 21/08/2024 11:54

It’s lovely. I’ve got some love and roses stuff that’s fine. Tops and a bikini

Yes ditto from me OP! It’s lovely.

Its one of the few times I haven’t had a wave of horror sweep over me when clicking on the picture link! It’s elegant, dignified and appropriate but still fun and celebratory with the pattern. And doesn’t have half your genitals threatening to disgorge themselves which seems to be the go-to look for dresses posted on here. I love the sleeve. Snap it up fast!

Haha I was thinking about the same. I am still laughing at the most unbelievably fugly top which somebody linked to a few weeks ago which they said was perfect for Teams meetings. Can't find it now but it was HILAROUS.
