Lilac eyshadow was recommended on Gok Wan last night - good idea or not? Anyone use this colour?

some make up expert said use a swoosh of lilac over you eyelid to wake up the colour of your eyes

now I am off to Boots at lunch anyway to get various potions and am pondering over a Bourjois pot

I don't normally wear any eyeshadow but am in a Spring Has Sprung mood and want to do an image update

I do! I have a Botanics pale lilac (not as purpley as the one on TV last night) and its true, it does look good, wakes my eyes up.

FWIW I have pale olivey skin (i.e. a bit sallow!), blue eyes and dirty blonde hair

my eyes are brown (like chocolate buttons according to dd1...not that she eats buttons obv, must have seen an oik child at school with them....)

I have boujois blusher (rouge brun or something) which I love so I think I may have a try

I love going to Boots and rummaging about, I spend far too much though on offers 'saving' money

i have green eyes and lilac definitely makes them look greener

it is a wearable shade IME

MamaG · 16/04/2008 11:02

I love Boots too. If I could only shop in 3 shops for the rest of my life, Boots would be up there at the top. I can spend hours rummaging.

I'm fine thanks Lapin, how are you?

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/04/2008 11:17

I have a Bourjois darker purple pot which is nice, quite irridescent (have grey/blue eyes)

CountessDracula · 16/04/2008 11:17

I have green eyes and so purples and browns make the colour of my eyes stand out.

fishie · 16/04/2008 12:34

Oliveoil · 16/04/2008 14:05

Oooh, you lilac lot, one step ahead of gok (impressed...)

Niecie · 16/04/2008 14:09

It has always been my favourite colour of eyeshadow, not that I wear it much any more but it would be my colour of choice.

I think it goes with most eye colours too - lilac for daytime and a darker shade for the evening.

I have dark bluey/greeny/hazel eyes by the way.

Shhhh · 16/04/2008 15:18

its my fave colour..always has been..and I agree it looks fab. . Its does make you look more "awake" and somehow opens your eyes iykwim..

I also think it gives you a lovely dewy/sexy look esp when teamed with a bit of blusher...

Shhhh · 16/04/2008 15:19

btw I use a lancome one and a purple from MAC. Nice when out at night if you cover lid in lilac and blend inwards from the corner (only to around half of lid) with a purple.

MamaG · 16/04/2008 17:28

You know, I actually like a lot of No 7 stuff

I have a FAB greeny-gold eyeshadow from there

FeverishFish · 16/04/2008 18:42

what pruple oen fomr mac
will buy self one as a reward when better

Shhhh · 16/04/2008 22:49

ff (aka cod) I need you...!!! what do I do with the eye concealer/cream I have just received from you..? I guess I use it daily before makeup but for how long and what do you need me to note etc..? Where do I log results.

Thanks for including me btw .

Now then, MAC purple eyeshadow...I use MAC pigment (loose powder in a little jar..approx £15 iir) in violet (use one of their smudge stick things as a base underneath in lilac colour). I love the pigments as they are so easy to apply and blend and imho last all day. Never crease and give a true and gorgeous vibrant colour.

How are you doing btw.? Have you any idea whats wrong yet..?

FeverishFish · 17/04/2008 09:40
