some make up expert said use a swoosh of lilac over you eyelid to wake up the colour of your eyes

now I am off to Boots at lunch anyway to get various potions and am pondering over a Bourjois pot

I don't normally wear any eyeshadow but am in a Spring Has Sprung mood and want to do an image update

Cappuccino · 17/04/2008 10:15

olive you can use any colour you like with brown eyes inc lilac will look great

we are super-blessed with eye colour according to my nice make-up lady

Oliveoil · 17/04/2008 10:17

scroll down cod, it is listed

packaging is a bit crappy on the eyeshadow, it does 'click' in a manner I like, bit cheap

yes cap, we are indeed fabulous

i think GOKs was more pale lavendery

MamaG · 17/04/2008 11:58

mine is lighter than Gok's.

I like No. 7 eyeshadwos, they are cheap (£5-7 I think) and last all day. i have a great greeny-gold that I regularly get complimetned on

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/04/2008 12:14

MIL wears lilac eye shadow. It's the one thing I always remember about her. Well, about her make up, anyway.

I am currently favouring Chanel's 'Jungle' (deep green)and 'Nocturne' (very dark blue), but would like something a little lighter. Without looking like MIL, of course.

Shhhh · 17/04/2008 13:37

will do cod x

No probs about the envelope..! Hope you get better soon. x

BugBearisBugBear · 17/04/2008 13:39

I find a strong purple is great, I've bought Mac and Lancome in the past, but currently using a Rimmel one that was cheap as chips and lasts for ages.

Lilac might not be so flattering IMO.

Tutter · 17/04/2008 13:40

now you see i loathe boots

such a vile shopping experience these days

BugBearisBugBear · 17/04/2008 13:44

Oh, and a propos of nothing, Lancome Virtuose mascara is WONDERFUL. My eyes look GORGE today. Buy some to go with the purple eye shadow.

Shhh if you have a pot of loose pigmenty powder from Mac don't you find that your face gets all covered in little bits of eyeshadow?

Mine would .

Tutter · 17/04/2008 13:44

the secret is to dampen your brush slightly

stops powder falling on to your face

BoysAreLikeDogs · 17/04/2008 13:46

Humph at all you lot being able to stroll into Boots or dept stores to try all these lovely brands. Out here in the sticks it's the beady-eyed Avon Lady or nuthin'

Oliveoil · 17/04/2008 13:47

depends on the Boots surely Tutter, the one near work is big and spacious and has every brand under the sun

the one near where I live is small and poky and full of nobs

OP posts:
BugBearisBugBear · 17/04/2008 13:47

Ah, thanks for the tip.

Any brush recommendations?

Boots online is good, if you can't stand the shops.

Oliveoil · 17/04/2008 13:48

("small and poky and full of nobs" - sounds like a Z-lister)

OP posts:
Tutter · 17/04/2008 13:49

tbh, olive, np

the stores i've lived/worked near in recent years have all been staffed with miserable feckers, with stock left piled in the aisles, and really poor displays
