If I won the Euromillions, how would I fix my skin?

I've tried so many things and nothing seems to help my terrible skin. I was wondering - the uber-rich would just throw money at the problem, but what exactly would I have done if money wasn't an object (it is, unfortunately)?
My face goes red if I get hot/cold/sweaty etc. I have some great products to help with this, but I also have massive pores, so everything just disappears after half an hour, leaving me looking like a hot sweaty mess again. I'm 50 and menopausal.
Would I get micro-needling? Or laser treatment? Each dermatologist seems to specialise in a different method, so if I went to a laser dermatologist, they aren't going to tell me I need micro-needling, are they?
It's all imaginary anyway, unless I go out and buy a lottery ticket....

I recently spoke to a pharmacist about spider veins and they advised laser surgery

Decisionsdecisions1 · 05/08/2024 20:06

I'd actually start with a consultant dermatologist (as in one qualified to treat medical skin conditions) then go from there.

What has helped my chronic eczema isn't retinol or peels or microneedling etc. Its medication.

If you have rosacea a lot of the cosmetic treatments risk making it worse.

NoNoNona · 06/08/2024 05:19

A much better diet?

BetsyRegards · 06/08/2024 05:36

You don’t need millions for a decent diet.

And as the OP doesn’t mention an issue with it I’ve assumed she’s already addressed diet as a route to good skin.

Kleptronic · 06/08/2024 06:03

I'm the same OP. Tried everything (all the topical rosacea treatments) (except giving up alcohol 🤨). Currently on the Zoe (for a year ish) and now having IPL laser treatment. Will try microneedling with ultrasound if this doesn't work.

Lopity · 06/08/2024 06:16

See a private consultant dermatologist and see what they recommend. Most likely laser.

Squirrelsnut · 06/08/2024 06:37

Soolantra.

wandawaves · 06/08/2024 06:54

I asked my dermatologist about my severe facial flushing and he recommended VBeam laser. I haven't done it yet as it's expensive, but I would like to.

Obek1999 · 06/08/2024 06:56

I'd go to Keren Bertov in London.

Isabelle70 · 06/08/2024 06:58

I have rosacea and use the Dermatica rosacea treatment. You could try that.
If not others have got Soolantra which is one of the ingredients in the Dermatica formula.

Ditch the great products and just use Cerave hydrating wash and Cerave moisturiser, nothing else. Estée lauder DW applied sparingly with a buffer brush won't shift and will stay on all day or Max Factor Facefinity compact again applied with a buffer brush.

Polkadottydot · 06/08/2024 07:36

There was a woman who got treated on one of the embarrassing bodies type programmes for her bad skin and her results were amazing. I think it was an Irish dermatologist who treated her but I could be mixing up my doctors. I'd see her if I could unscramble my memories and remember where it was and won the millions!

lollitakortez · 06/08/2024 07:56

Anyone can recommend a great consultant dermatologist in London please?

A bit of face wash and moisturiser won't fix bad skin.

You don’t need EuroMillions.

You need a pot of Dr Jart green cream. They do
same sizes as well.

Thanks @Obek1999. I have tried literally every product recommended on this thread. None of them work, probably because my huge pores devour them instantly.
Does anyone know how much a consultant dermatologist costs? And how do you find a good one?
Edited for punctuation.

You probably don't need a 'good ' dermatologist as even an average one would know what to do almost without thinking.

Would cost £250 to £300 for a first appointment, slightly less for follow up and any tests or prescriptions would be on top

I suspect you have already spent more than that trying to sort your problem skin.

Just use dermatica or skin n me for cheap online dermatologist. All they can prescribe though is hydroquinone and tret, they obviously can't fo laser etc.

Fixed mine after years and years of bad skin.

This!! I haven't tried the estee lauder but I only use these 2 cerave products otherwise I'm red, bumpy and irritated. I always get compliments on my skin! I also drink loads of water and use the heliocare gel SPF in the day.

circular1985 · 06/08/2024 15:04

I have regular face treatments (hydra facials, micro needling and chemical peels) and the most effective was BBL (3 sessions) and then Moxi (1 treatment). It's the treatment many stars use. It's been fantastic for uneven skin tone and rosacea.

BetsyRegards · 07/08/2024 17:13

You’ve had every facial in the Times article, @IncognitoForLife? Confused

Surely not?

IncognitoForLife · 08/08/2024 07:00

Well no @BetsyRegards because they are services, not products, aren't they?

But every post that suggests a face wash or a moisturiser or an active ingredient, or a prescription ingredient, I have already tried. Most of them just make me redder & drier, even the moisturising ones. Which is why I've asked for a different solution, which some posters have helpfully suggested.
I'm now looking up dermatologists.
